My takes are usually optimistic. The Jets are just so bad that an optimistic take looks like doom and gloom.
It was pretty funny, the Jets posted something on their social media "Congrats to the Bride" with the picture of Sanchez and Mangold and it made it seem like they were getting married
A beautiful wedding. An NFL has-been hitched his wagon to a Hollywood never-been. JK!!! Actually it's kinda sweet..I recall him being very awkward in the dating scene when he first got here...good for him now.....his life is now over.
Yup i almost forgot about that. https://www.newyorkjets.com/video/can-t-miss-play-cotchery-in-the-clutch-3044838 [I dont know how to embed] This catch always stuck with me. And we traded him for someone who could barely produce for us. Regardless or not if Sancherz wasn't the "guy" or "FQB" he flashed, got a super fucking raw deal, and a team that didn't want to support him. As much as those years were fun. Those back loaded, heavy salaries on aging vet, trading all of our picks, drafting literal projects/bums always in rounds 2 and 3 that management team set us back so far every year we were always left scrambling to pick up the pieces. 2015 was merely a flash in the pan as the team was still shit and aging. Sad we didnt see that 2015 team in the playoffs.
Jets gonna Jet like death and taxes . . . although I wouldn't put it past Nick Mangold put on a wedding dress and walk behind The Chimp's wife down the aisle.
That situation was insulting to anyone with a brain. Cotch was an excellent Jet, he deserved better than a halfwit fail move to end his tenure. I think of that situation whenever I get stuck listening to that dipshit Tanny speak about active GMs.
Man, that move really upset me when it happened. I think I recall it really pissing of Cotch too, like he truly wanted to be a Jet for life. I'm gonna see if my drunken brain can recall the numbers.....Didn't Mason only have 1 catch for 15 yards before we cut him? and Cotchery still had some solid(3rd receiver type) years with the Steelers? Edit: Mason had 13 catches for 115 yards in 5 games, another 55 for the Texans when we traded him. Cotchery on the other hand, played 5 more very productive years with Steelers and Panthers (including a 10 Td year in 2013) Tanny really fucked up listening to Rex on this one.
Love Cotchery, one of my all time favorite Jets. But he asked out when the Jets extended Holmes, and the Jets did right by him by releasing him. Derrick Mason replaced him but it wasn’t a trade in any sense. Terrible move all around regardless. Dude was total money on the field and solid citizen off.
