I wish I could remember what reporter podcast it was on, but they made it sound like the restructure on the Jets side would make Rodgers look like a folk hero.

    GB doesn’t owe Rodgers any money… he’s a Jet.

Don’t get salary cap and salary confused.

I appreciate you don’t follow contracts and money, but you probably shouldn’t ask people who know even less.

Conner Rodgers mentioned something about the FO being extremely proud of the restructure (before it was announced)….

I think this was after the initial restructure. In this article Cimini talks about David Dunn and the Jets FO already working on another restructure that could be in place before camp. That probably means getting Quinnen signed before camp starts and maybe signing another lineman or linebacker or both.

I’ve seen that article……you had mentioned something about AR being a hero by the way the contract is structured….

There is no way to structure the contract to make MORE room THIS year so I don’t see how a restructure brings in another lineman or lb THIS year.

If they make room in future years, it kind of makes it more possible to sign players now...

We can be $1B over the cap in 2024 and it has 0 to do with 2023….

Unless we're over the cap right now (we're not), nothing precludes another signing as long as there is room to spread the money out in future years.

I agree… the point I was making is that currently, ARs cap hit can’t get any lower. There’s nothing we can do with his contract to free up money. Maybe I misunderstood your original post.

I mainly meant that the cap situation loosening in '24 and beyond would make it more possible to negotiate with Quinnen for a long term deal and maybe even open it up to complete the roster with a couple of 3 years deals this year if Rodgers does the Jets any favors.

But I think maybe I was a little lazy making my point.
