The most inevitable signing of all time. I’ve always liked him and I still think he has something left to contribute but I hope we aren’t relying on him to be anything more than a guy who takes less than 50% of the Slot snaps

It has finally happened. One of my favorite UK football players of all-time is now a member of the NY Jets.

If only this could've happened 5-6 years ago!! But better late than never.

The Jets now have a very interesting decision to make with Corey Davis.

Do they keep him or save 10.5M in cap space this season and cut him?

Right. Somebody will the odd man out. Davis, Mims or maybe even Cobb. Not sure he's a roster lock at this point in his career

cut him and keep Mims if he doesn't rework his contract

    Wilson
    Lizard
    Hardman
    Davis/Mims
    Cobb

I suspect that somehow David Baktiari becomes a Jet as well...

Denzel zero career touchdowns is in trouble.

Davis seems like the most obvious cut IMO, if one were to happen. You can cut him and immediately gain 10.5M in cap space.

I doubt they cut Mims or Cobb at this point because neither of those moves has the same upside as cutting Davis.

I could also see them keeping Davis too. If you cut Davis and something were to happen to GW, Lazard, or Hardman, you get really thin at WR really quickly.

To me it depends on if you need the space. If you don’t then why cut him? He’s still a very capable WR and he works out with Rodgers in the offseason apparently (NFL network said this on draft night). I could see a restructure but he’s in his last year so it would have to be an extension.

I'm not a huge Corey Davis fan, especially at that price but cutting him for Randall Cobb is a downgrade

also very different players, Cobb is a slot receiver and Davis isn't

Yeah, this is where I'm at. If we need the space to sign an Al Woods, Rodney McLeod, etc., I think they make that move. You could realistically sign 2, maybe 3, solid vets with the money you save by cutting CD.

Otherwise, you just keep CD and have excellent depth in your WR room this year.

Corey Davis, that's been bandied about for quite some time now. If it doesn't happen now, it's probably not going to, which is OK. If he doesn't have to be a casually why do so, I reckon.

EDIT: Nm; Broadway Zach just said the sane thing. I guess it would help if I read. o_O That guy needs a new handle, btw . . . unless he thinks it'll turn prophetic somehow. Prophetic of er, prophetic of um, there are no prophets with this team, really. I'm with name change here. Well, that's his name.

this has the fell of what Tuna used to do, but only with A-Rod instead of Tuna

Lazard, Turner, Cobb maybe another JAG or two or even higher grade. That familiarity will help in the beginning of the season and in tight spots. They're already on the same page and will spread the gospel

On the surface this says that Davis is gone. He is due 11 million and we still have our draft class to sign.

We will change his handle. But if Rodgers gets hurt or falls off a cliff, we will punish him and change his handle to BroadwayBrook!
