It's an updated version of FieldTurf. John Mara says that he hopes they eventually move to a grass or hybrid field. No word from Woody that I've seen. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...rf-installed-metlife-stadium-home-giants-jets
Well, it doesn't sound like the best possible option but the best option currently. I guess that's better than nothing.
When they built the Westside stadium, it would have included new turf. FU Sheldon Silver. And no, I cannot get over it.
Depending on weather conditions and whether or not the stadium is indoors or outdoors, synthetic fields have the potential of causing infections via skin abrasions, and the inhaling/ingesting of the crumb rubber particle material. Unlike bodily injuries, any potential health hazards associated with these chemicals probably will not be know until later in life. But hey, trust the science, which has no study data on any long term effects to player health. Somebody didn't get the memo about the agenda riddled "green movement".
It is a curious decision. They have to go to grass in 2026 for the World Cup, if you were gonna tear out the turf, shoulda put the grass in now. This turf will end up having a 2 year life also why can’t soccer players play on turf?
