    He was hurt.

..but he Is not In his prime anymore either. He Is 39 years old. Until Tom Brady came along, that age was a significant number for a QB.

I get times have changed but I also understand that Tom Brady Is the exception to the rule. Not the actual rule.

    Declines do happen.

I sure as fuck hope that's not the result for us. I don't think It will be.

Again though. I try my best to stay neutral on my opinions. The possibility of an aging QB, declining, Is more likely than not. This Is based on history and common sense.

Stop reading so hard into my posts man. Sometimes I do have layers but right now, I'm not saying this Is a bad move. I'm not saying Rodgers Is shit. I am saying he Is a significant upgrade.

However. I am putting that possibility out there that he could be worse because of his age and the fact that people do decline over time In this game. It's possible.

Nothing that I want to happen, It's not even what I think will happen.

    However. It's possible.

    Does that not make sense?

I agree it’s a lateral move for most part.
Given the familiarity with Rodgers and Hackett, I like the fit tho.

Also was expecting a little more from CD in the blocking game, so Lazard might give us what we were hoping for there.

Overall not any big upgrade, but a nice fit so welcome on.

TBH, injuries aside, Davis would probably have a much bigger year with Rodgers than Lazard. But there is the familiarity thing. Does anyone really think we would have signed Lazad if not for Rodgers?

Rodgers does two things the minute he steps off the plane. He brings experience and makes us a legitimate franchise again. He's better than anyone currently on the roster and brings us credibility. We made it to an AFC Championship game with Mark Sanchez under center. Imagine what we can do with a first ballot Hall of Famer there with this defense. He's not Favre. He's much better.

How do you figure that someone that wins NFL MVP 2 years in a row (aka the best QB in the NFL), then has a down year due to injury and losing his best receiver, is not in his prime.? He won two MVPS AFTER Lamar Jackson won his one. Unless he gets injured again, he is more likely to be closer to his MVP performances than his performance last year next year.

That does raise an interesting question. When Rodgers got the avulsion fracture to his thumb in October, there was talk that he might need surgery in the off-season. Will he?

Multiple people have said this would be a good signing regardless of AR. Whether or not we would have, I don’t know. I’d assume yes because he’s a better player and Davis has almost no guaranteed money left so why wouldn’t you upgrade?

Why were the Broncos, coached by Sean Payton, looking to dump Jeudy and Sutton but sign Lazard?

Things have went south real quick for a lot of QB's over the years due to age. This confuses me.

Rodgers Is 39. He will be 40 In december.

This Is around the age where most elite QB's start to decline In play. So, no, It's not more likely he Is closer to his MVP performances.

    I hope so though.

You also have to figure that he sat for 3 years, so that is three years less wear and tear on his body.

That Is a good point. I also think he has the same mental makeup as Tom Brady. That will to be great. Which probably will play a big role In his production.

    However. Again.

I'm not saying IT will happen but that It is POSSIBLE that he has a decline In production due to his age. Considering he Is a 39 year old QB. It's possible.

Rodgers stats are pretty much the same before and after the thumb injury.

A big part of his decline from the MVP year is he wasn't throwing to Adams, he was throwing to guys like Lazard, who finished with 6 drops last year, tied for second most in the league. In fact, Rodgers had the most drops of any QB last year.

Yes I’m sure Lazard was the problem not te fact that there were also two rookie receivers on the field as well

The thing to keep in mind is that the Packers want this to drag out to June 1st for cap purposes. They don't mind the 11 week wait because it makes the cap work out better for them for 2023.

Do you even look shit up before you post or not? He broke his thumb on one of the last plays vs the Giants.

He threw 2+ TDs in 4 of those those first 5 games. In the next 12 he only reached that number 5x.

    Post Injury: 236/374 63% comp 16:9 TD:INT 181 YPG
    Pre Injury: 114/168 67% comp 8:3 TD:INT 231 YPG

Exactly, the Packers did not have a true number one on their roster.
