This helped. I like this outlook. Great post. I can definitely get behind that idea, of comfortability. I'm sure It wont hurt to have that common ground to help speed up the process of everyone getting acclimated to one another. I just don't want It to interfere with anything important. Cutting someone we shouldn't, hurting the team just to please Rodgers with what he wants, etc... If It doesn't hurt us, I can get behind this. For sure.
Why the 17th? His contract extension from last year was signed on Tuesday, March fifteenth. Aaron Rodgers officially signs contract extension; Packers QB to earn $150.8M over next three years (nfl.com) Packers sign QB Aaron Rodgers to contract extension I suppose the possibility exists that contract language could specify a different starting date for the contract but everyone here is claiming 365 days from the day of signing.
You are going back years to find those numbers. He is an aging, descending player. Lazard is an ascending player. His best was last year and hes 27. That is the reality.
“Follow me to one of the worst franchises in pro sports, I promise I’ll be there, you do it first” is probably a tough sell.
it is going to be a tough sell. Starts with the coach first. Saleh is good for that, players will come to the Jets because of him.
It's Paddy's Day, Paddy's not Pattys or Patties or anything else. It's probably our only contribution to the world so those Pattys Day bs, really annoys us
We’ve been pretty in sync this offseason but I couldn’t disagree with this any more. Lazard is not the same level as Davis and he’s most definitely not worse. He’s cheaper than Davis APY, the cap hit will be much lower and he’s better all around. He’s on the rise, Davis is declining and it doesn’t really matter who the QB is. Apply context… the Packers turned into a running team this year (Lazard a fantastic run blocker) and when they threw, as many balls went to the RB as Lazard and that’s the way their offense was designed. Then on the Davis end, anyone who watches the games can see he’s losing it. Dropping half the balls that hit his hands, can’t stay healthy… he was done here no matter what. Davis was either getting traded, cut or extended. No way we were paying him that money this year unless we extended him and then you’re looking at the same contract as Lazard (basically two years) but for a worse player.
I've been schooled and feel better for it. Like the day I figured out Pho was pronounced with an ah sound and Bruschetta wasn't an sh but more of a K sound for the ch. Mind blown lol.
I actually don't think he announces it today. I've been pretty vocal about the deal being done for almost a week+ already, but I have some weird feeling this isn't being announced today. I think Rodgers hints at it and makes it blatantly obvious, but nothing official today.
Visited Ireland last summer and fell in love with your country. Your post educated me on something new today. Thank you!
Holy hell, that would induce a lot of extra unneeded stress. I just want to be able to celebrate on St. Paddy's day (did I get it right GreenWhiteandGold?).
I was just thinking about it though, this dude loves all the attention and controlling the narrative. Tomorrow starts march madness and is always one of the craziest weekends so maybe he does it today? Idk.
I also agree that we aren’t getting an announcement today. I think he heavily suggests that he wants to play for the Jets but I think the bigger purpose for him going on the show today is to needle whoever is actually holding this up. Whether it’s the Jets or Packers. Obviously a terrible idea but Aaron Rodgers isn’t full of many good ones.
Lots of predictions of what will happen but based on the forum's batting average, chances are non are correct. My receipt jar is getting full
