The Packers and Rodgers both have their own leverage over the Jets. We backed ourselves into a bad corner with Jimmy G and Carr off the market quickly. It’s Rodger’s or bust and both he and the Packers can get what they want. Keep in mind we will also likely get no OTA’s from Rodgers either.
This is not leverage against the Jets. There are other QB's out there that we could use to recover if this falls through. People wildly overrate the effect that Rodgers is likely to have on the Jets. They do this because he looks like a great QB but in fact he is an aging QB playing at a time when aging QB's tend to go over very quickly when they go. He's also at an age where injury is a real possibility. He's also joining a team that cannot put together a reasonable OL for their lives and this will be a huge change from what he is used to in GB. I'm not saying the Jets couldn't improve with him but they could easily step down also. And that's a step down from 7-10.
Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, w/o confirmation this is just BS. If the supposition abour him tying to recruit folks is true, then I be a happy camper. Just make the deal and lets move the F on...
I'm going to predict it's already done, but Rodgers wants to announce it tomorrow on McAfee and the Lazard will follow. Seems like there's enough smoke
I think it'll be Lazard, too. He would be the perfect compliment to the existing group. And he's a fucking first down machine.

G Wilson is a much better receiver than Allen Lazard. We'll all be overjoyed if we get Lazard but the truth is that he is replacement level value for us with a 3rd round WR and 10x as expensive.
Now Rapoport is saying: “Rodgers just hasn’t informed any of the parties involved what he wants to do, and until he does there’s no reason to get engaged in anything,” said Rapoport, who quipped that a Rodgers decision would improve his quality of life. “We’re just waiting.” https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/03/13/aaron-rodgers-jets-packers-decision-report
