No they couldn't because Rodgers could just say he's not playing for team X, and team X won't make the trade. Retire or not, he's the one making the call of where he plays, not the Packers.

The odds of us being set up to become a circus are higher than the odds of us being set up to win the SB.

Manning was considerably younger when he joined the Broncos. Manning's skills eroded heavily in his final year in Denver, at age 39. Rodgers will be 39 this season

Rodgers has been on a lot of talented teams and been to the playoffs 11 times. The last year he went to the SB was the last year we won a playoff game.

Oh, I'm excited about the potential. :)

Kinda like dating a smoking hot chick who you know will end up being a PIA.... It may go south, but it sure will be fun/exciting until it goes bad

Tom Brady was 43 when he went to Tampa and won a Super Bowl, but let's not talk about that 4 years OLDER than Rodgers.

Tampa had the #1 OL and #2 defense, that held KC to 9 points, and beat 13-3 GB/Rodgers the game before.
Brady was throwing to Mike Evens, Antonio Brown, and Rob Gronkowski.

    But were totally TB.

Wait, which is it? Is it Tampa Bay carried an ancient Tom Brady or is it Tom Brady is the best ever? You guys need to get on the same page

Were not the same person, but it was mostly Tampa carrying Brady. The guy threw 3 picks in the second half of the championship game and they still won.

So this will fall squarely on our staff if he chooses retirement or return to GB. The sell wasn't strong enough to get a guy to keep playing for them and make $60 mil in the process.
