Lets not forget... Football is a business first, sport second. Woody just raised the prices on the tickets after a 7-10 season where the season ended on a 6 game losing streak. Carr is not that game changer. Rodgers is a Living Legend, first ballot HOF, etc.. Rodgers also won 1 SB 13 years ago. That's gonna be the pitch. The hook is gonna be does The Legend have one more run left in him.. Folks will pony up for the higher priced seats for The Legend.. Its about the show for a year or two. Not the long term success of the franchise. Investors must get paid and that happens with Swag, PSL's and gameday ticket sales.

Woody looked at it and made the business decision. I would imagine the Staff wanting Carr is true. This is the Owner who thought bringing in Tim Tebow was a great idea. Why? Ticket and Swag sales of course. This is the Owner who passed on a NYC/NYS stadium when he couldn't get his way on the WSS. Result? A Mausoleum in the Jersey swamp we have to share with another NFL team.

Now I must admit this is one helluva gamble on Woody's part. IF The Legend decides to retire, then what? Pivot to some C-list QB with the lame assed excuse that this is the best they could do? Perhaps some in the fanbase would buy that but most won't.

They just bet the ranch on Aaron Rodgers. Even if he plays for the Jets, that 2 year window is like the eye of a needle in the scheme of things. If this is about salvaging Zach Wilson, which I still think it is, Then in 2 years, Zach comes riding to the rescue.

If none of this pans out? If the master plan fails? If the Living Legend decides to stay put or retire? What choice would Woody have other than to blow it up and start over? Scary thing is... Woody would just hire another set of amateur first timers like he always does..
