The fact that he spoke with the Jets tells me 2 things:

    1) He's most likely coming back to play in 2023.

    2) He's told the Packers this and they allowed him to start speaking with teams to facilitate trades.

Will be interesting to see if Rodgers has any other meetings over the next few days.

Why do I feel Rodgers will string this thing out as long as he could. For a guy who likes the quiet and seclusion he seems to be the main topic in the news cycles every off season. If Rodgers comes, he needs to be completely bought in with attending mini camps, getting to know his teammates and being the offensive leader of this team. If he's not fully in then I don't want him and the drama that seems to follow. He could potentially get us far in the playoffs or tear the team apart. I hope JD is hard line on ensuring he 100% in..

Bc the guy is doom and gloom anti Rodgers from the start -- nothing to even do with it being football related. It's crazy how much he hates Rodgers

Exactly. Now Douglas and Green Bay are tying up some loose ends and then Rodgers will make the grand announcement on the Pat McAfee Show.

I don't think it is coincidence that:
    1) the report leaked about how the Jets will fit the cap number
    2) The packers will get more compensation if they take on more money
    3) Carr signs with NOLA (only because the jets are almost done with Rodgers deal - they aren't dumb: HC and GM on hotseat this year, they won't let Carr or Rodgers go elsewhere, they were getting 1 of them)
    4) Wingo leaks the rodgers/jets talking
    5) The Athletic confirms it
    6) Rest of the Jets beat confirms they are in discussion

I understand being frustrated by this situation but I can't really blame Rodgers that much. This is a very big life decision for him. Does he retire? Does he stay in GB? Does he want to up-root his life and move to NYC?

I wish we already knew what he wanted to do too but I'm sure the man's just trying to make the best choice he can as quickly as he can. He understands the gravity of the situation but it's still a big decision for him to make.

Lmao, Graziano said it COULD BE imminent, not that it IS imminent. Huge difference there.

I disagree. This is woody swinging for the fence and not settling for a middle of the road guy. If they miss out on Rogers, then, yes this is embarrassing SOJ crap. But if they get him, it could be franchise altering with a deep playoff run and a shitload of confidence for the young guys moving forward.

I for one, love going all in.

But the pessimist in me, says the Jets will get the shaft and end up with Carson Wentz.

A 3rd this year and a conditional 2nd in 2024 is what I'm hoping the comp is.

How do you know he doesn’t know if he wants to play? How exactly did we botch not signing a QB that has a ceiling of mediocre? Are the Saints suddenly SB contenders? Hell are they even really any better at all? Even better, are we Super Bowl contenders against Mahomes/Allen/Burrow/Herbert/Jackson if we signed Carr? We chose not to sign Carr. Rodgers has nothing to do with that. Carr just isn’t all that great. Sure he can hold down the fort, but that’s it. Rodgers played with a fucked up thumb at 38 years old with a bunch of scrubs at WR and still put up numbers right around what Carr produces every year. It’s a no brainer. Trade for Rodgers (it won’t cost a 1st), and draft the future.

This would be the ideal scenario IMO.

My only question/concern about conditional 24 picks is, what he he decides after the draft he doesn't want to come back? Would the Packers have to give something back in '25? Shouldn't the conditional picks be in '25 pending him playing in '24?
