Age, $, & compensation = Carr I just wish this shit was over with already. I feel we can't move on to another topic until we know who's behind center....... speaking of which, we need a center.
Age is a sticky topic because it really just depends on Zach truthers. If we sign Carr Zach is done, without question. Everyone seems pretty split on this but if we sign Carr he will need to be traded for peanuts or just flat out cut in a year or two. $ isn't necessarily a vote for Carr, he will probably be more expensive this year than Rodgers and especially if Rodgers decides to go back to GB he will have all the leverage and could wind up with 40mill annually. Compensation obviously we would have to give up more for Rodgers but if it's what has been reported (a 2 this year and conditional next) it's really not hateful for a HOF QB.
I can't believe these words are coming out of my mouth, but I went with Carr. When you take into consideration the costs (Players. Picks, AND Money) to acquire each player on the list, Carr brings back the best return for the required investment. How anyone can trust this offensive line as currently constructed to block for a 40+ year old Aaron Rodgers is beyond me. If you trade for Rodgers, you are also most likely trading every draft pick that would improve the offensive line for next year.
Enough is enough. Fck the groundhog. Can't have him fcking up this upcoming FA by playing coy. The Jets need to just move on and sign Carr come what may. The longer they wait o. The groundhog, the more likely it is that Carr moves on first. Jets looking weak and desperate at the moment.
Jackson has played less than 75% of the games over the last 2 years, will likely cost multiple 1st round picks, wants a fully guaranteed contract according to some Carr won't cost draft capital, hasn't missed a game in 5 years, will likely cost about $10M less a year or more which can be used towards getting Q signed It's preferred QB poll not best QB poll
I think Carr gives us a chance to stabilise the position for a few seasons, hopefully long enough for us to find a decent player through the draft to come in and take over after four-to-six seasons. Rodgers gives us nothing more than a quick sugar rush. We'll be back where we are now in another year, but without the option of getting one of the capable QBs out there this offseason. Look to the medium-term rather than the short-term.
I really don't think the Jets are waiting on Rodgers. I believe that if Carr said to them today that he wants to be a Jet, he'd be a Jet. I think Rodgers is option #2 should Carr go elsewhere.
Great point. We get Carr and we hover in mediocrity for the next 5 years…. Only a SOJF would see that as a good thing.
I guess carr, and MW as backup. I’m more interested in building a wall of an o line, and having a defense that can get to the qb and also create turnovers. My ideal team looks more like the early 2000s ravens.
I don't see that at all. This is where GM's earn their keep... if it was easy @Brook! would be in charge...
