Hmmm... Mr Puga, whoever he is, lost me with his lede graf... -and- Kinda makes me wonder if Mr Puga is actually human, rather than some deranged chatbot. I'm telling ya, someday it's the author of articles that will need to do the captcha thing, to authenticate their humanity, not the readers. (Ambitipus sounds like some pre-historic squid.) .
We're going to be so screwed when AI's begin inventing irrefutably better words than we can. It's going to be like playing chess against them: one wrong word and you never catch up.
Giving up on a #2 overall pick with less than a year of experience would have been monumentally dumb.
New Orleans is basically restructuring someone’s contract every day. They are opening up space quickly. I still think they have a long way to go but clearly they haven’t been given any sort of impression from Carr himself that they are out of the running.
Curious. Carr wants to take a few weeks and milk out every offer and he’s a nice guy. Aaron Rodgers takes 4 days to pray and contemplate his next steps in his life and career and he’s a selfish mega asshole. It’s amazing how much people will convince themselves that a guy who doesn’t align with their own beliefs must be such an awful human being that we’d ignore 4 MVP seasons (2 in the last 3 years), a SB victory and is 8th all time in playoff victories. Remind me again how many playoff victories Carr has in his 9 year career? How many MVP awards? How many times has Carr ped the league in passing yards, QBR, TD passes… anything at all? Riiight, but he’s such a nice boy isn’t he.
Well I do agree to a point but you’re missing the slight difference in scenarios in that Carr is a free agent, Rodgers is now. Carr is significantly younger with a lot more football left theoretically. People don’t like Rodgers for several reasons so it reflects in their opinion as to how he handles everything.
Rodgers is not going to cost a first rounder. He has a maximum of 2 years left in his career. GB can posture all they want but they have no leverage. I’ve seen nonsense like Rodgers was selfish because he got a big contract (guess that makes Mahomes one of the most selfish players in the league), Rodgers demanded a trade (he never demanded a trade ever), his locker room hates him (not one player has ever said a single bad thing about him)…. There’s literally so much nonsense being spewed by people who convince themselves a 4 time MVP, surefire HoF, arguably one of the best QB’s of all time, is not a fit for the Jets and for what… because he didn’t vaccinate himself? Because he practices spirituality? Because he’s confident enough to have an opinion and stand by it? Yes David Carr is younger, just young enough to keep our franchise in the same obscurity he’s had the Raiders in since the day he was drafted. He’s decent, nothing more nothing less. Aaron Rodgers doesn’t guarantee us anything, but he does immediately elevate this team to be a top 4 AFC team able to beat any of the others. Care doesn’t.
I think the vibe on Aaron Rodgers has been built up over a bunch of years now. For me the last straw in the totally selfish point of view was Rodgers demanding the highest pay last year and forcing Devante Adams out of town in the process. That's not how you win a championship.
Forcing Davante out of town lol. You guys crack me up. Why don't you show 1 scrap of evidence of this.. Demanding the highest pay? Umm, yeah so they didn't have to pay him, he was coming off back to back MVP's, MVP stands for most valuable player which in turn shouldn't expect the highest pay when he received the highest honor?
I have zero issues with Rodgers on a personal level. I just don't want to surrender a high draft pick for him.
