On what planet does a 1st round pick, regardless where it falls, in exchange for a quarterback who might only play one year for your team make even a lick of sense?? The only 1st I would even consider would be in 2025 under the condition he sticks around for 2 years at the least
I'm confident if he comes his contract will be structured to where he plays 2 years. I've seen it mentioned a lot of ways to do it to where most money kicks in the second year. If he does that then a first will be wortb it considering we have picked 16 first rounders since we have made the playoffs.
He’s settled into the Favre “Will I retire or will I play?” stage at this point. Just because he signs an agreement doesn’t mean he’ll honor it. Only way he’s worth a 1st is after he’s given us 2 years. Not a day sooner
If we give up a first. We don't have the right people In place for this team and the owner clearly Is a fuck stain pushing that agenda. If we can get him In a similar trade that we gave Favre. Cool. I really can't wait for some of these answers to be revealed because there Is a lot of possibility for this to go really wrong. Desperation Is an ugly fucking thing, right now, this all smells like desperation.
Agree. We got to remember Douglas has wasted number one picks on Bechton and Zach Wilson. Wilson's draft slot especially could have brought a haul. I am concerned Douglas will try to make up for those errors by getting Rodgers and pay heavily in draft compensation--OUCH!
JD has made 6 1st round picks 4 are rock stars 1 is injury prone 1 is a disappointment I don’t think JD feels bad about his track record.
True enough, but last I checked only 1 of the 6 first-round picks plays QB, which is the position Rodgers plays. And I would choose a stronger label than "disappointment" so far for Zach --I have seen several NFL commentators use the word "bust." Zach could get better, and I hope he does, but so far no good. Anyway, I am in the camp with some others on this board that a first-round pick, especially 2023, is way too much for Rodgers. In fact there has been some discussion of offering two first rounders (yikes). The Pack wants to unload his contract big time, and I think they want to unload Rodgers too, and let Love play. Aaron has spent the last two off seasons trying to decide whether to even suit up. I think it is too risky to offer much for him. Hey, if we can get on the cheap, I am all for it. What is your opinion, King? Do you think/want the jets to offer a first rounder or more for Rodgers?
Rodgers views himself in a different way. He needs to be respected,it is his ego . He had one bad year and in his head he thinks he is worth the 2 1sts our owner said he was worth. I think the man will play to his trade status.
I don't think many people aware of the situation would be surprised by either statement. On the other hand, it seems that Teichert went out of his way to not link the statements to each other. That's not to say that many a casual reader will not make some kind of connection.
Jones restructuring to stay in Green Bay is not a rebuild kind of move and indicates to me that Rodgers is more likely staying. Hope I’m wrong.
Maybe I’m wrong but they don’t have the option to cut him without a $14 million dead cap hit. And Green Bay doesn’t do stuff like that.
I believe it would I be 9.5 million dead cap hit if cut now. I also figured that it resetting/rebuilding you take your lumps now (especially while love is cheap) to clear the books for next year. I hope I’m wrong as I want Rodgers.
