...and in turn, after joining the Jets, he will ultimately spend time in the future contemplating the darkness
Hackett had moderate to above average success with below average quarterbacks and that’s a good match for a team about to start Jacoby Brissett.
The guys an asshole but, at this stage, if I found out Ed Gein throws a tight spiral, I’m giving up two firsts for him.
I love the dichotomy of your post. You imply you know thing but anyone who’s read any of your posts knows you don’t know shit about shit.
There's no way that he returns from this introspective retreat with a new-found enlightenment that tells him to go play for the Jets
Yea I dont like our chances with "introspection" haha The flip side is we don't know how much drugs he plans to use so maybe there's hope he takes too much and isn't thinking clearly
A few days in the darkness and that's supposed to impress me? I've been a Jets fan for five decades. Don't be bitching to me about darkness.
Not sure which I find more unusual--the fact that he is going on this "darkness retreat," or the fact that he is telling people that he is doing it? Not sure I would even admit to needing something like that. I sure hope they don't fork over two number one picks and $100M for this guy. Even if he plays for the jets in 2023 (unlikely), what is going to be his mindset about playing beyond 2023? He really likes the attention in the offseason. I have certainly seen players more committed to football and their team than him.
If you heard Carr at the ProBowl festivities, he said he is going to give everything to his new team and city. That is the response I want from my QB.
Some of you guys are hilarious. The world is and always has been full of different means of self discovery, reflection, connections to spirit and God. Modern social media connections and information has made it readily available and informative. 40 years ago Yoga was considered just as outlandish as dark retreats or ahuasca experiences. Now everyone’s wives are doing fucking goat yoga. The reality is many people are realizing that their connection to God is a lot more direct than religion has led them to believe. A dark retreat is literally a guy trying to clear and refresh his mind and spirit for renewal. Seems to me a bunch of you guys could use it as well.
If "going dark" for a few days enables him to clearly come to a firm decision, I'm all for it, whether that means coming to the Jets or not. If he decides to come here at that point it would mean he's completely bought into it and has no reservations. I don't want him coming here for half-assed reasons and then playing that way. I think it's a good thing.
