The Ohio State guys topped the stats and are very promising, and the first receiver taken finished 3rd. The top 10 has a UFA and a pick 143. The only high pick that missed the season was John Metchie, Houston. The players that out performed their draft spot the most were Shaheed, Okonkwo, and Pickins.
My favorite stat there is the 147 targets for Wilson. Loved the pick at the time. He was the receiver I was mocking in my drafts. Kid has a bright future if he stays healthy.
He has a MINUS expected ctach stat. One of the worst in the league... as i had been suspecting he makes like ZERO contested catches
Could it be because he's such a talented route runner with insane quickness that makes him usually open? I know it's hard for some Jet fans to not be critical about everything related to this franchise, even when it's something positive........but can you at least try?
He didn't have the numbers of Jefferson and Chase in their rookie seasons, but given the QB situation, it's understandable. I was high on him before the draft and was ecstatic when we got him.
i feel ya... but i am not buying that. h'e so open that he has less than a 60% catch rate? I LIKE THE PLAYER ALOT, actually. also ALOT has to do w/ crappy QB play... but about 2/3 of the way thru the season i asked myself..,. " have you see him WIN a 05/50 ball?? Make a catch that was unexpectedly great? " The answer was no. I still like him alot. So, mea culpa , bro. Didnt mean to piss in yer rice bowl.
Glad to hear you like him. Curious of the things you would mention for players you don't like Wilson's not built like WR's say like Brandon Marshall who seemed to always win the "50/50 ball" (though drop the wide open ones). Garrett's got a much smaller frame, but obviously his athletic ability is off the charts. At Ohio State he won a lot of those 50/50 balls by jumping over defenders. The guy is a baller and I'm glad we have him.
admittedly that was nitpicking... but that expected catches stat confirmed what I was seeing... and YES... he ddi outleap guys in college... would love to see it for the NYJ... YES he is a baller and glad he's aboard and NO... you dont wnat my nitpicky shit about guys who suck... fu Brian Winters!! turnstile!
Brandon Marshall did very well against Revis. I think he was the only receiver that Revis didn't do well or great against.
Putting aside the actual results (not that they were bad) and just going on the eye test Drake London looks like he's going to be a heck of an NFL player.
