No shit. We need to find a replacement. Not Minshew or some trash. We need to find our franchise QB, period. Until we do we are completely wasting our time.

Mike White can be the FQB. Just build an OL around him.

Stop being delusional. White is a stopgap. Nothing about him shows as a franchise QB. We can sign him to hold the fort for a couple years but the draft either this year or next must net us a franchise QB or we’ve wasted the talent we’re bringing in.

#2 is in passing yards in his stretch. Best first start ever by QB. Ok, I'm "delusional" because I'm looking at real stats – while you're hoping QB we draft someone is the FQB. Again, I'm "delusional".

Your thinking is why Mike White WAS NOT starting in the first place.

But....you can wait to go all in on Archie Manning in 4 years.

No QB can do well in the NFL with this level of offensive line play. Opposing teams don't have to respect the run and can just sit back in coverage.

There is no chance the mannings will allow Archie to be drafted by the Jets. Not happening. You can believe that every QB jets draft are bums or you can realize the organization is clueless on developing a QB.

I agree.... I don't understand why Ty Johnson doesn't get more love from the Jets. Every time he is on the field I seen him produce. They gave every RB a shot to lead but not Ty. Ty is a complete back also. He blocks, catches, and runs well. Heck he is also a solid teammate from his interviews.

I don't understand why they keep him buried on the depth chart, but he still manages to hang on to the team.

The coaching staff isn't high on his ability to catch. Hopefully he gets more reps though to change that. He's been solid in his chances.

    Check this out: https://jetsxfactor.com/2022/12/26/ny-jets-playoff-push-step-up/

Tackles played like shit all year aside AVT. Laken sucked all year. But CMG has been solid on interior earlier and Herbig outperformed. Now even these two are not playing well. We need to protect Mike White if we are to have any chance to win remaining games. Out of JD's 3 full years here, we had a decent OLine for half a season last year. This is not good enough.

OL 1st round. OL second round. I've been saying it for a while.

Yes, Zach didn't help things with his slow recognition and reactions, but young QBs all tend to have this problem. And the OL problems pre-date even Douglas, helping to derail Darnold's tenure with the Jets. I understood this problem under Mike "We don't need no stinkin' OL" MacCaggnan, but I really thought Douglas was going to make sure he fixed this. WTF is the problem? Whatever it is he'd better fix it or he might discover that his seat begins to get hot.

JD tried, but ultimately whatever he did - failed, and that's the bottom line. Becton can't get on the field. Fant was one year wonder and is injury prone. Laken was all PRO last year, now stinks. In the meantime guys we missed out on or let go, like Wirfs and Moses are more durable and are playing very well. Heck even AVT got a serious injury and is out for the year. This is definitely an issue.

I know JD had a great draft and some good signings, but missing on a FQB with 2nd overall and OLine are massive negatives as well. These were top two most critical rooms on the team. Next year we either have injury risk players in each position, which unfortunately now include AVT, or guys that stink. We still need two starting caliber tackles next year and a Guard. Herbig is not a starter, and Laken played worse than him. Plus we need a QB. I doubt any big name QB is coming here with the OLine the way it is now. Hopefully White won't get hurt by the Oline again, or he is not re-signing here either.

That and just start getting QBs in 3rd round or 4th if they are valued there. Plenty of teams have scored in those rounds.

I'm not entirely sure what this class looks like, but just for future reference. Jets should just wait until later for QB for now on. Unless it really is a prodigy.

Agree + it’s interesting how Mike White has outplayed all Jets Qb’s (22 years) since Pennington (except Geno who is 32 and finally figured it out):

Brooks Bollinger - limited arm strength/accuracy, height
Kellen Clemens, Brad Smith - limited accuracy, arm talent
Erik Ainge - limited accuracy, fundamentals
Mark Sanchez - limited accuracy, ability to process
Greg McElroy - limited arm strength and frame
Geno Smith - limited football IQ (but has progressed)
Taj Boyd - limited arm strength and accuracy
    Bryce Petty - limited accuracy
    Christian Hackenburg - no accuracy
Sam Darnold - lacked composure and consistency (game was too fast)
    James Morgan - limited accuracy
Zach Wilson - lacked composure and consistency (game is too fast)

and yet people are ready to so quickly give up on him…

When I watch White, I see a guy with NFL starter tools and dare I say potentially rare traits (ability to go through reads quickly, anticipation, accuracy).

The same could not be said about the guys in the above list who’s flaws were almost all quickly exposed in a game or two…

Besides Whites limited athleticism (not 100% needed) and injury concerns…

What exactly is everyone’s problem with Mike White? What are his glaring flaws (like those above)??

The Jets need a combination of drafting O-lineman and free agents. I would call it a semi-overhaul

I'm less concerned about AVT than I am about Becton and Mitchell. Those two cannot be penciled in as starters going into TC.
