Berrios and Mann you cut - they have no impact on the W column, white affecting our L column Lawson you try to restructure. Davis you cut and try to re-sign cheaper. ZW you might need to trade him for a conditional late-rounder to remove the cap hit.
This was asked to Vilma, but my answer is no. He's essentially missed 2 full seasons in a row. I'd draft someone early and sign a vet who can start if the rookie isn't ready.
Probably right, but I don't want to disrupt the chemistry with this defense. Let's see if we can draft and sign better role players and depth. It can be special.
I still optimistic with Becton living up to his draft stock. I think his weight issue and the fact he's probably still growing is the main thing.
Jets have historically wasted cap money and a roster spot on that exact nonsense thinking.... it is the job of the coach to teach the qb. get a backup who can play, not a guy who is shot.
agree ...when you watch them, you have to wonder if the subject of tackling is even discussed, let alone practiced! the Tuna would have had them with full pads on for full contact practices weeks ago.
The Ron Wolf model.....draft a QB every year, even in the late rounds, until you develop a guy who can work out for you or be traded for picks down the line.... reference: SF running right now with a 7th round rookie, the last pick in the entire draft!
For starters we got Quincy and Kwon playing for 2 million combined this year. They have way outperformed that and will command much more this offseason. While I was initially high on Kwon, I think I'd like to keep Quincy more. But it wont be for the 875 thousand he is playing for this year. Add in Mosleys big payday coming and we have a lot of work and decisions at LB. We probably have to release Mosley to sign 3 decent ones - but that would be a big dead cap hit. Lawson is easy. But consider on the DL that Rankins, Huff, Thomas, Curry, and Shepard are all FAs this season. Probably only Rankins and Thomas would return for the same money. Plus Quinnen has a considerable payday coming. On OL there is Fant and McGovern, who will probably get good offers. OL demand is at an all time high in the league right now and they will be more expensive to retain. I don't want to get to deep into the offseason stuff yet. But these are in addition to the holes we have and we need a QB. People who think this offseason is going to be a repeat of the offseasons we had when we were flush with rebuilding assets are in for a rude awakening. We don't have much cap space anymore, and we don't have multiple top 35 picks. The rebuild is over. Now were got to try and muddle over the hump.
I've suggested several times recently that Rodgers should be considered, but a lot of things would have to fall into place to make that realistic. Upon more thought I don't any of those things have any hope of lining up. There are better options. The one thing I'm certain of is that Zach won't be here next year. The team - the players - have given up on him even if Saleh hasn't.
