How can you "fix" someone who just stinks in the NFL? Nothing person against Zach, but he has shown SQUAT in the NFL, is too short, has no accuracy, and can't read a defense. About like trying to fix Christian Hackenberg.
Gholston probably should be #1, but missing on a qb picked #2 overall adds a special level of bustitude that’s hard to ignore….
I think you'd probably have more success trying to turn Hackenberg into an NFL QB than you would turning Wilson into one.
What about the shotgun approach theory that if you just keep shooting you'll eventually hit something?
Wonder how much good those receipts are going to do Saleh when he gets a pink slip in a couple of weeks.
To me, the key is that you could have Mike White and with Streveler as the backup next season ... and you could basically have a QB room that is making league minimum. That's a lot of money to spread around elsewhere. Signing White to "starting QB" money would be compounding the mistake - you don't need to - nobody else going to give him starting money. You'll hear Boomer Esiason say, "If he's the starter, you need to pay him like a starter." That's bullshit. He can have starter money when he wins games like a starter (and when other teams might want him as a starter). Draft five offensive linemen and the punter from Rutgers, fire LaFleur and mandate Salah take a new offensive coordinator and a clock management coach, cut Wilson, and you might have something next year.
Once they started Zach as a rookie... they were stuck trying to develop him hot and hope for the best. The staff must have thought he could handle it... I don't know why.
I’d love to know what Garret was telling Zach at the end of the game. I totally suspect it was something totally honest but totally classy too Zach may not be done but it’s tough to see him not done w us. My suspicion is it turns into an honest competition in camp which he’ll lose. I happen to like the CS FO and team. Let’s remember Bree e hall was headed to OROY. Look at all the injuries on the line we don’t need aaaron Rodgers. We need some who is quick thinking and reasonably accurate. Super duper frustrating but this situation is not unfixable. We have a good pieces and a handful of great ones personally I’m going to sleep tonight trying to focus on that hit Clemons made on Lawrence. Future is brighter than it feels right now
The only other one close, imho, is Gholston and he went 6th. Wilson is close to the conversation of worst all-time NFL busts right now. Not only is he terrible, but all his teammates seem to hate him ... which puts him in Ryan Leaf territory.
