We’ve got to sign or draft another QB this offseason. This team is competent QB play away from being a playoff lock. Throw in some upgrades on the OL, LB, and S, and we’ll be a dangerously good team next season.

I don’t think they’ll do that. Tonight it’s been made clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that Zach Wilson isn’t NFL ready and he may never be. If they want to keep their jobs they’ll find a competent starter. If pride keeps them from doing that then they’ll be looking for new jobs after next season.

How many QBs has Shanny gone through in SF?

I think Saleh is a very good football coach and Douglas is a good talent evaluator (sans the Gase draft and ZW).

This team needs a veteran QB (Hello Aaron Rodgers) and to draft a young guy to sit behind him and LEARN.

    Last 3 ZW starts:
    3 pts
    17 pts
    3 pts
    ----
have not eclipsed 20 pts once.
have gone without a TD in 2/3 games.
Average about 1 pt/ possession over that timeframe.
3 pts tonight came after a -4 yard possesion (defense caused TO).

I agree you can't blame the coaching for Wilson being no good. You can't make a nuclear bomb without plutonium.

Kinda hysterical that the Jets would redesign an offense, for their #4 QB. But fail to do so, with their prized draft pick. This Jets organization, & most of the 'fans,' refuse to admit the #1 problem... the offense sucks, no matter who is the QB. That suggests, it's not a QB problem, but an offensive scheme problem. Without Breece Hall & AVT... they can't score.
I mean, give Zach the offense they gave to Strev, & he'd play better. Whatever you imagine, Zach is a great athlete. It's that type of scheme which would use his talents, while he learned the sport. It's like they've tied his hands, feet, & brain. No matter who is the QB, they can't score against a smart D. That's a scheme problem.

I don't think MLF is going anywhere... But I kinda wish he would.
Idk where the Jets go from here. Season is down the drain. There's some great talent here to build around but I don't think you can say any position group is great. We need help all over and we don't have a QB

If White was put in at half time of either New England game we are still in the playoff hunt.

Um ... I've been reliably told that the Jets offensive line was "fixed" and a Top 10 NFL line.

This will be the thread for my hindsight.. Told ya so moment.

Should've drafted the obvious #2 QB In this draft based on College play. That was Justin Fields. It just was.

I just know we would be In such a better position right now If we had. Unfortunate.

    Now.. enough of that bullshit.

What's the answer? I don't know honestly but Zach Wilson Is not It.

I think Saleh and JD are fine. Jettison Zach and focus on OL (which I've been saying every year lol). Lots of young talent and some good vets mixed in, and Saleh seems to be creating a good culture and we need continuity. Go forward with Mike White and whoever else JD can whip up for next year.

When will the Jets learn. This is not the first time they've had all rookies all the time. How 'bout bringing some veterans to run this club. This learning on the fly thing is painful.

I do think a veteran presence would be huge, but when it comes to hiring 1st timers and drafting QB’s, you’re going to have growing pains. The key is that you can see value and progress. In the case of coaching, I can see value. There are convincing strong points on all of them. You do not see any with the QB.

Saleh- not the greatest in game strategist. Definitely more of a players coach. But, he’s a clear leader of men. The locker buys into him and he proven to flex on a player if he needs to (Mims, Moore). He’s also a very driven man that I feel is very honest with himself and is driven to improve. He’s in the impossible position to try and defend the indefensible, but he’s not handling it well.

MLF- It kills me because his pass play designs and concepts are stellar. Every week you see tape of receivers busting open. His runs designs leave much to be desired and his play calling is frustratingly bad at times. I’m willing to consider that he also has the drive to improve, but I’m also concerned that his offense needs an intelligent QB.

Ulbrich- honestly when Saleh said a monkey can run this D he meant it. Our D has a lot of talent and has been very good at bend don’t break.

While all of these guys have room to improve, they also have a lot of respect around the league. Firing them after 2 years is not a good look, nor do I think it’s a good decision regardless of optics.

Considering that two very high recent draft picks (Zach and Becton) have failed to positively contribute, the Jets roster is still in pretty good shape going forward. Another issue with Zach is that his numerous flaws were effectively masked earlier in the season when the Jets were winning. I'm sure the coaching staff was not blind to this, but was powerless to do anything about it considering the enormous amount of politics involved with having to deal with Zach. Once the coaching staff is extricated from this insufferable position and is able to lighten the load by dumping off the excess baggage, they'll be very happy to put this entire fiasco behind them and get back to the business of building the team.
