I have a hard time believing we go into next season with ZW as the number one option and no Mike White or other viable option
Knowing the Jets they will bring back Flacco so theres no competition for Zack, Saleh said it himself in the interview that No One is giving Zack a chance, and that New York wants instant results and this kid is going to be great, so clearly he beleives in him. So no competition for Zack he got the keys to the Ferrari as long as Saleh is here.
What can he add a few pounds of muscle and learn how to navigate the pocket a little better so as to avoid of minimize the impact.
I like it, so we let MW handle all drives from our end of the field through the opposing teams red zone, then Zachy strides in to get the points! Holy shit, can you imagine Saleh's post-game pressers?
MW can add pounds. JD can draft or sign better OL depth. Breece, AVT and even Becton can come back healthy and ready to start..........and ZW can learn how to read coverage and throw accurate passes in the pocket. Best for JD to sign MW and keep building. . Let's hope it all plays out.
No Zack can't you can't teach someone to proccess information quick and read the whole field you either got it or you don't
I agreed with everything up until that they will go draft another prospect in 2024. I don't think that's happening. I think the rest of this team advanced so quickly that they are not in a position to start over with a rookie anymore. Whatever they do, they will bring a veteran in here whether it's making a big splash for a number one next offseason, or going with a mid-level guy until they can trade for or sign a number one.
As I mentioned in another thread. The only way Zach becomes the answer to the Jets QB problem is if he gets us to the Playoffs and plays well. He needs to show the team and fanbase, he has the "IT" factor. He needs to show everyone that he never backed down when everything was against him. He needs to show everyone that he can handle the heat of playing QB in the toughest market. If Zach can win down the stretch and get us to the Playoffs, I think he would get a chance to turn the bust label into a possible Franchise QB label
From time to time such claims as the bolded are made but are never supported. Can you flesh this out a bit?
From an optics standpoint, hard to say the Jets have done much to improve the QB position when #1 is incapable of throwing an accurate five yard screen pass and a stiff test crash dummy is your backup during a playoff run. For example, if the Niners were stupid enough to have a guy like Flacco at #2, does anybody in their right mind think they would be winning anything right now? Don't exactly need to go out on a fragile quivering limb to see that Zach probably ain't going anywhere anytime soon, so love him or loathe him, he's your man for now. The Jets movers and shakers are in an unenviable position this offseason, since Zach has shown little in the way of being able to effectively play the position - unless of course one's standard for playing the position is lower than a pregnant cockroach. Improving the position, while simultaneously protecting your coveted high draft pick who can't effectively play the position, does not seem like a viable option at this point. Hard to see Mikewhite hanging around the Jets' perennial QB mess for much longer. Best for him to probably grab whatever offer he can and get as far away from Florham Park as possible. Like any other sensible person who has moved out of the Garden State, hard to believe he will miss it that much. Maybe the Jets acquire Brett Favre Part II from Green Bay or overpay for another free agent hack like Neil O'Donnell to come in and lead them to yet another disappointing sub .500 season. Without cutting ties with Zach, which for several reasons the brass is reluctant to do, a marked improvement at the QB position seems as likely as a Zach led game winning drive. It's anybody's guess how much time the staff has been given to fix the latest QB dilemma. Who needs Guantanamo Bay for "enhanced interrogation", when you can just feed your captives Jet games year after year? The number of unsuspecting Jet fans who have sustained brain damage from having to watch the same crappy rerun year after year is still being studied and up for debate.
George and others, this is for all the ZW supporters, https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/arti..._jets_qb_zach_wilson_stinks/s1_13132_38273047 The video doesn't lie: Jets QB Zach Wilson stinks By Andrew Marshall | Last updated 12/22/22 Like many of us who believe he is not the answer, here is another example - besides Simms and the homer Young and other posters on this site.
I think tonight could very well be the last game Zach Wilson ever starts for the Jets. The Jets playoff hopes are on life support right now. Zach has been the problem for this team all season long. At this point I'm resigned to the fact the Jets picked a colossal BUST QB. Worse than Sanchez. I'm truly hoping he'll have an epiphany tonight and the game will suddenly slow down for him. Right now it's obvious to me that he can't handle the speed of the game. He just doesn't know what he's looking at in real time.....
Jets need to win tonight. Rooting for Zach to have a good showing, not make any mistakes and get the W. ESPN puts Jets playoff chances at 16% I don't know about that. If they win tonight, I believe that immediately increases to 40-50% Jets can still get to the post season
