If you have uncertainty that the QB can’t make the jump in the NFL, you have to bail. simple as that.

You can live with that, you can’t live with the other.

We’re talking only Eli and Josh Allen had made the jump needed by Zach. Two QBs in basically two decades.

Trade him to GB. Let him sit under Arod his idol.

I listen at people like Phil Simms, Kurt Warner and many others that speak with a position of authority IMO. They have pointed out a number of negatives and a number of positives areas about Wilson. They have put it well in perspective. I fully support their views. Some are a concern that should have been corrected by now, and has been discussed quite a bit. Disappointed, yes I am, but is so refreshing to hear a balanced take on both Wilson and White versus some of the exaggerated bunch of BS by a few here putting Zach in the trash can and White on a pedestal. Fans don’t know what they don’t know. Fuck, one is actually putting White name in the same sentence with Allen and Mahomes for a comparison versus Wilson.
I don’t believe for a second the retórica he will never be this or that, blah blah blah. May be not for the Jets. I don’t even think our CS knows that unfortunately.
With all of Zach’s current woes, put him on a team with a savvy CS like SF, or KC or even The Eagles and watch him be a totally different QB, where some of his shortcomings will be quickly corrected. And all the BS as to what can or can’t be corrected by the experts here will go up in smoke. Jets and developing a young QB are mutually exclusive terms.
Meantime, back to the real issue,. This CS and team needs to be better in all phases for us to win the remaining games no matter who is behind center. Blaming it on Zach when we loose or on the rest of the team when we loose with White is nonsensical and so jet fan like.
We had three winnable games as a minimum and we squandered it with mistakes across the board.

I don't care If you agree or not.. It's a fact. It's not debatable.

If those things are corrected, we win. We didn't win. We should've won.

Do you not understand the difference?

The RDZ problems were costly. There were several opportunities to win though. That's not debatable. Should've won.
The two turnovers weren't boneheaded. First one was fluky AF, second one was just a desperate throw, In a desperate moment. Those turnovers weren't why we lost the game. The offsides was bad as well. We still had chances to win. Had more production overall. Stood toe to toe with the AFC's "best" team.

Mike White statistically played better at QB. The run element helped JA as well. Still, we had the chance to get It done, they didn't get It done. We had 100 more passing yards, with only 25 less running runs between the two teams. We won T.O.P. Had the ball at the end. We could've and should've won this one too. Despite the two turnovers.. Which both were stupid fumbles.. At the end of the day though, we had chances to win. That's all you can ask for. It was just a bit outside of their reach.

The defense held the Lions explosive offense In check all game until the end. Again, plenty of opportunity to win this game too.

Point Is. We were In all these games, barely lost, should've won.

I appreciate you trying to act like this team has gotten stomped out the last three weeks but that has been far from the truth.

    Go troll somewhere else.

For right now I don't think we can choose which QB since it doesn't look like either of them can make it through a full season healthy. Just throw one in when the other one gets injured. We may end up seeing Streveler at some point out if necessity.

As I read through the 19 page thread I'm seeing an annoying trend among some. This whole "needs better coaching" really rubs me the wrong way. Trust me, these guys can afford any coaching they want and, if they don't feel they are getting "good" coaching, then they can seek out better.

The reality of the beast is, not ONLY the Jets but the entire NFL, got all starry eyed and put this kid on a pedestal based on POTENTIAL! I'm sick to death of "potential." While an extreme case, take a look at the 49'ers. Trey Lance hasn't played worth a whit in the NFL yet that team traded UP to get a guy, on potential. Yet here they are with a guy that played 4 full years, won a ton of college football games was drafted LAST because many thought his arm wasn't strong enough. I'd lay money that kid takes them deep. We'll see. Production always wins over potential every day of the week.

They get paid for their opinions and they will have their own biases as well. As good as they may have been playing, they aren't In the building either and you don't have to be a QB to have an ability to see shitty QB play and put pieces together.

Were you not a very big pro Chris Simms supporter as well? Using his nonsense constantly to justify the absurdity that has been Zach Wilson?

Now that he Is losing too, the narrative has changed I guess? Now we need to put our blinders on with Zach Wilson and just blame everything on the CS?

Well, Phil Simms and Kurt Warner said... blah, blah, blah.. I don't give two fucks about their opinions. That doesn't solidify anything. Just another opinion.

You can take those two, then turn around an find even more "experts" ripping the shitty ass play that we've all seen from Zach Wilson except for a minority of Jet fans at this point.

CS and team has put us In a position none of us thought we would be In leading up to this season. They have far superseded my expectations on the year. They have got this team ready to play every week.

Have we been blown out In a game this year? I don't recall for sure but I know we've been In just about every single game we've played. Regardless of the opponent. They have been consistent.

You know who hasn't? Well, of course you do, you'd just rather point the finger at the "real" problems on this team. It's not the players I guess, even though they figuratively and literally are dropping the ball In these games, In which we lose. Opportunity to win has been there every single week. Every single one. Yet, when the players don't execute, that opportunity Is ruined. Doesn't matter how well It was schemed up, coached up, etc...

If they don't execute. We don't win. It's that simple.

Does the coaching staff need to be better, yep. Are they really the problem though?

You are being the typical Jet fan. First to blame the CS, defends a shitty player because they have potential...

I'm good. I've seen enough. You can't keep playing God awful and start losing too. Doesn't work. Excuses are done.

Zach Wilson has 3 games to show that light coming on for him. There should be ZERO excuses at this point on the matter.

The problem that if it doesn’t click relatively early on, it doesn’t happen at all. And you’re dragging a good roster along for the ride. That’s how coaches and GM’s get fired.

Maybe Wilson becomes a unicorn where it all clicks in year three. For the record, I don’t think Mac Jones is any good and while Fields is better at this point than Wilson and Jones, he still has a long way to go before he’s a teams choice at QB. Lawrence looks great.

This is all good and well and you keep putting all the blame on Zach. That’s fine. I disagree. He was benched for a reason. I supported replacing him as early as the NE game so don’t tell me I’m behind Chris Simms comments or blind to Zach’s shortcomings. Although I think their opinions are not any better or any worst than yours. I want the Jets to win and we haven’t with either QB.
Zach might well not be the answer, but he was far from the biggest problem for us losing yesterdays game. I did not say he is the long term answer, but He did enough to get us in a position to win. Yes he hasn’t shown enough, but we knew that, all we wanted was for him to do enough not to lose the game. And he did. I guess punt returned for a TD, inexcusable defensive plays on the TD and other, mismanagement of the clock, missed field goal. Those were not contributors. Fuck yeh I am blaming the CS and the rest of the team too.
White also has a chance to prove it over the next three weeks and hope he does. Then we can put this to rest, and enjoy a playoff game. Because I’m also tired of the “he looks better than Zack by a mile” blah blah blah yet we still find a way to loose winnable games and score shit in the red zone. So there is more to this than Zach.
God forbid if we loose the next couple of games under White what will the retórica be, then? That Zach is the problem and no one else?

    It's not all on, Zach.

I'm just not interested In making a 1000 excuses for the kid either. He sure AF Isn't the reason we've been winning games. He sure AF hasn't looked like he belongs In the NFL up to this point.

Zach may not be the answer and that seems more and more likely. Hell, he's not even the best QB on the roster right now.

He did just enough to cost us the game too. One being that stupid ass INT. The other that I can directly point to Is that miracle catch by Michael Carter to bail out his stupidity.

His stat line Is much better than how he played overall. His overall stat line, represents a shitty QB.

He wasn't the sole reason we lost. He Isn't the answer though either and It's beyond obvious.

Can he be the guy, I can't say for sure he can't. Is It probable though? Fuck no. Not at this point.

Do you believe Zach Wilson Is the best QB on the roster right now? If you're honest.

Both things can be true though as well... Mike White does look better by a country mile and this team and CS needs to do better because we are losing games we should be winning. As a collective.

I just know In my heart of hearts. The dude Isn't the answer, he never should've been drafted, but we will see how this ultimately unfolds.

Peace. I actually don’t disagree with most of what you said and I sure don't advocate that he is the long term solution. Nor do I think he is the best QB in our roster right now. As I said going back to the NE game I want White there. Zach is the QB by necessity. With all that said, he did plenty to squeeze a win this week. That’s all we have right now and we must work around his strengths and minimize his weaknesses until Mike can get back. Keeping him in the pocket IMO most of second half was not good. Let him roll out. Yes he had a bad interception but he also threw a beauty to Smith in the end zone first half perfectly placed in front of his hands but the guy got tackled before he could catch it and no interference call. He is not going to overcome the quick strikes for TD like the punt return and the long TD. And when rattled, he makes dumb mistakes.
Conversely, I think Mike is good enough to rally this team to victory, but from my perspective close to his ceiling, immobile and injury prone and not sure he is the long term solution either.

But I’m worrying about now and I need for this team in total to step it up a notch with whomever is under center, hopefully White. As for next year, not ready to completely discard Zach, but disappointed terribly that he is not much further along, and not good enough as of now to be a starter.

I agree, the chances are not super high now for Zach becoming what the team envisioned when he was picked #2 overall. But we have an example right in front us of a player drastically improving after a few years in the League: Mike White. I was very impressed with Mike over the last 3 games he played. I think if he plays last Sunday, the game looks a lot like it did against the Bears and we win. Yet Mike is not the same guy now that was cut from the Cowboys 3 years ago. He is also much better than he was a year ago. Also, Mike got better without starting much - only 2 full games really last year, and he is much different player this year, who took a pretty big leap forward from Cowboys days, and even from last year. I think there is a possibility Zach can improve as well in his 3d season, the way Mike did, even if Mike starts the remaining games this season.

That is a good point. They can sign a veteran to compete with Zach (and potentially beat him), but he is likely on the roster in 2023 no matter what. I would love nothing more than him winning that competition and becoming the great QB I expected him to be when he was drafted #2 overall though.

Yeah, that is my main concern with Zach too. I expected a big jump in Year 2 and it really has not happened. The pre-season injury hurt more than we realized. He could have used those reps.

Your reading comprehension sucks. Take another read, I clearly asked a question and did not make a declarative statement. I'm not interested enough in going back to pick through your rubbish.

Until this pops up, of course, from around the same time you were responding here: "True enough, but still 5-3 in his 8 starts vs. 1-2 for MW." That's the entirety of your post #276 - nothing about defense, injuries, coaching, officiating, simply a comparison of the won/loss records of the team under two different QBs. Once again, consistency is important.

I'd suggest listening to a broader spectrum of "experts." Listening to only those with whom you agree is not the way to get a comprehensive balanced picture of what's actually happening.

What are the chances of Mikewhite even playing this season if Zach hadn't opened his mouth, refusing to accept accountability for his horrid play against the Pats? ZWilson still looks like he was picked #2 overall as a favor to someone, instead of being selected on his abilities and merit. Drawing comparisons to other QBs in the same draft class is a colossal waste of time, because the Jets had already made up their mind on Zach come hell or high water. After all, a deal is a deal right (wink, wink)?

There obviously is so much political bullshit involved in coaching/managing/owning a team, often times it gets in the way of being able to draft or field the best possible team. Rolex Rob acting uncomfortable and being cryptic in his pressers wreaks of someone who is unable to display any sort of transparency towards the great unwashed masses. And why should Coach be honest, since it will probably be detrimental to his employer's agenda? Just look at what happened to a naive Zach when he was honest with the media.

Finally, there is nothing "new" about instant coffee, as it was invented over 130 years ago. Why does Saleh even give two shits if some plebs prefer to drink that instant coffee crap over the corporate sponsored Kool-Aid he is pimping? No need to become defensive, regardless of how insufferable both the fanbase and the situation devolves into. He should be solely concerned about trying to get a much needed win with his underachieving QB to prevent the wolves from gathering at the door.

After further review, we may have to throw a flag on Coach for not only grossly misrepresenting the age of instant coffee, but also for taking a backhand swipe at the great Jet unwashed fanbase. Just like one can't expect unadulterated honesty from Saleh, don't expect the fans to discontinue nitpicking every move with a fine-tooth comb anytime soon. Oh well, such is life with an embittered fan base who has been sold a bill of goods for far too long, and has lately become the target of cheap shots from friend and foe alike.

In my mind... good quarterbacks engineer sustained drives that eat up the clock and put points on the board.

Zach was "ok" on Sunday... but he's got a ways to go to achieve the above.
He still doesn't set up well... can't hit receivers between the hash marks... lazy throws with erratic delivery.

Always good for a few "what the fuck?" plays per game.

And once or twice a quarter he'll pull an amazing pass out of his ass.

He is so frustrating to watch.

He's literally looking at Wilson before he moves off to the EM. Just throw the fucking ball. That's 12-15 yards and there is no opposite safety in the middle of the field, a good throw this could be a massive play for GW.
