Mike White - he wasn't perfect and left quite a few things on the table but overall he played well. the final INT was his fault but it was desperation time. the 1st INT wasn't his fault and he dealt with a few drops at bad times

Garrett Wilson - really don't know what to say. he is just a beast and a play maker. 8 for 162 and a lot of it as YAC. also was overthrown on an easy 85 yard walk in TD

Zonovan Knight - 15 for 90 yards. had 28 receiving too. 2 games both with 100+ yards. looks really good for an UDFA rookie.

Raiders - for beating the chargers which let us hold the 7 seed despite the loss

JFM - the whole d-line was good, but JFM had his best game of the season. he was really disrputive

the CBs - sauce and reed were great. JJ is the top WR in the NFL to most, at worst top 3 an he was held in check. cousins had one of his worst games and was hit a lot

Greg the Leg - 5 for 5 in FGs including a 60 yarder with room to spare. we need to lock him up. he's been fantastic

    Duds

Elijah moore - just doesn't look like the same player. his failure to toe tap on that deep out was just bad

Berrios - was a tough catch but he hasn't had an impact this year and missed out on the go ahead TD late in the game with a drop he usually makes

James Robinson - just doesn't look good at all, not the player he was as a rookie. i'm guessing our 2023 plans wont' include him. it'll be breece, MC, and bam

Red zone offense - like 6-7 trips only 1 TD and it was as close as could be on 4th down QB sneak. failed 2 times to take the lead in the last 2 mins

    Up and Down

Davis - had some big catches late but also opened the game with a drop that led to an INT

Coaching staff - didn't start out good, made good adjustments at the half, but some odd clock management and some odd play calls in the red zone. should have tried QB sneaks in the same sense white was not doing well on it. we should really have a package for streveler to do sneaks and maybe a bigger back to push him

Duds: Becton and AVT. If those guys were healthy, nobody would be questioning the red zone calls, because the Jets would have walked it in every time.

Yes shame on AVT ripping his arm apart in a game playing out of position to help the team. Can't have guys like that on the team

Good summary, what did you think of the d line? Seemed slow to start off.

Fant had one of the dumbest penalties in the game when he shoved the guy in the back.

Conklin was a big dud as well.

Got to show Refs some Dud love...
-Whitehead hit was clean and not unnecessary roughness.
-They placed the ball on the 1yd line when it was closer to the goal line.
-Called P.I on Sauce/Reed but Viks corners were holding and not playing the ball a all.

To be honest the Pass Interference call this year is so inconsistent. CBs are face guarding more than ever and not turning back to play the ball... But they call P.I only without rhyme or reason.

Don't forget the punt that Berrios caught out of bounds at the 27 indicating it had to have gone out of bounds before so at least the 28. Bastard marks it at the 26.

Mike white was a more up and down. He had a pretty subpar first half, but second half he shined. Just needs more experience to get touchdowns. I hope he can get there.

Ya MW had some really great throws, starting with his 4th and 10 to Corey Davis late in the game.

But he also had 2 passes thrown behind a sliding WR. His first int that went off Corey's hands while Corey was sliding to the ground and reaching back for the ball, and then of course the pass thrown behind Berrios in the EZ. Again, a WR sliding to the ground with the pass thrown behind him making for tough catches.

This is just a timing issue that will get cleaned up with reps.

I'm guessing White was trying to put it where only the receiver could get to it or it went incomplete if they couldn't catch it.
Like you said though, reps will help fix it.

Yeah, that's where I was going with that. Probably.

Really not his fault once Berrios breaks to the outside which wasn't what the play called for. You can't expect the big dawgs to be ballerinas when the playmakers go off script. This is another coaching deficiency in my opinion.

Not full Dud... more of a complaint.

Our DB's were giving too much cushion in zone.
I felt there were a few passes/routes that could have been easily jumped.

Also in the pass defense node... does our DL ever get their hands up to block passes at the line?

I put this squarely on the coaching staff and commented on it during the game. Several times in the first half the Vikes had 3rd and short and we're playing zone coverage instead of press. Two steps and the receiver is open for a first, makes no sense.

Yeah... in the game thread I said it looked like we were playing prevent instead of pressure.

They were keeping things in front of them... which is good... but with too much cushion.

I expected a more aggressive scheme on defense... but the players were hitting them hard... ;)

Yes I believe that was what White was doing, throwing low and way giving only HIS guy a shot at catching it. But unfortunately he threw behind both times, making for really difficult catches when it didn't have to be. He'll fix this! Just like his overthrow to Garrett. Mike will get a better feel for how Garrett runs a deep rout.

I think the ball placement was fine actually. He wanted to go to those guys and (at least for Davis) put the ball in a place where only his guys could make a play on it. Easy, no, but both were catchable passes.

You could very well be right and I hope so.

I thought I noticed that the passes where he threw behind typically had more juice on the throw than usual.

Because of that, It occurred to me that perhaps he is still a fraction slow in recognition (hence puts more speed on the ball to compensate) and the result is he's still a tiny bit late.

As several guys have alluded to, more reps is the cure.

I felt he definitely could've pulled up because he extended his arms, but, I could be wrong.

When the Jets don't establish the run White is going to look a lot worse back there.

He's not Peyton Manning 2.0 and the Jets should not expect to ride his arm. The decision-making is pretty good but you don't beat good teams with a pass-pass-pass offense.
