According to rumors its almost certain he'll land here. He has connections w/the coaching staff. Also the deal in his current 49ér contract states he can't be franchised and he can become an unrestricted free agent in 2023. The only thing the Jets have to give up is a treasure chest of money, estimated at around $112 million. They won't have to give up any players or draft choices. Buy Jimmy G. or keep the Z-Man?:D:D:D

If Zach was out for the season I could have seen it, but then they would have handed Zach the keys. I think they roll with white and see how he does this season. The issue is, can white win when the defense doesn’t play this well? Same issue with jimmy G. He has dominant defenses behind him, but can he win a game down by ten at the four minute mark? That’s what it takes to win a superbowl.

I still say 27 first round picks for Deshaun.

The Jets are tight on money next year. Of course they can push it out, But, the FO built this team financially on the assumption that they had a cheap starting QB. They have a number of people they may have to hand out some money to next off-season. Starting with Q, Huff and a vet QB whether that vet is MW, Gardner, Jimmy G, Brady or whomever. it will be interesting to see where the FO goes.

Jimmy G would be great with that defense.

We could have had him cheap prior to Lance's injury and this CS didn't even kick the tires on him that I could tell.

And its not a choice between anyone and Zach unless there's a trade--he's here for 2 more years. Question is if he's backup or 3rd string.

And just why is Mike White not a consideration in your thesis anyway? You think he sucks?

Yikes, what is this thread about when we haven’t even seen about White.

mike should be the focus now and worry about later if he blows up.

i'd rather not. jimmy g is middle of the pack. not worth a boatload. white has looked solid and is cheaper. zach could still come through. we could also look to draft a late rounder and/or go for a cheaper vet. brisett has looked solid as the browns starter this season.

on a funny side note, how funny would it be if brady wanted to come here for 1 year to stick it to belichick?

Both Brady and the Jets are in win now mode. I can't imagine a team better for Brady. The Jets are loaded on offense with a potentially great defense. He likes NY, has a son here and like you said he could stick it to BB. But, maybe more important is I don't think there is anything left that Brady could add to his resume bigger than bring a title to the Jets.Question is what number does he get. Does Namath lend him number 12 for a year? Is number 12 a deal breaker?

Fuck Tom Brady where he breathes.

I can put up with moving the team to Jersey.

I can tolerate the embarrassing weak ass uniforms.

I will never root for that asshole. Fuck that.

The organization has to focus on Mike White right now. Roll with him until the end of the season and see if you can win with him going forward.

Unless we’re cutting Zach and letting White walk in FA, why on earth would Garropolo sign here as opposed to staying in SF? It’s literally the same situation. Jimmy is going to want a team where it’s clear he’s coming in as the undisputed starter.

I've had Bad Religion's entire discography in my rotation for a few months, haven't listened to them on the reg in like 20 years.

I would think so. BUT if Mike White finishes the season strong and gives us what we want from Jimmy G I would NOT be shocked at all to see the Jets head into the offseason with Mike White as QB1 and Zach having to earn the job back.

If Mike White falls off obviously that changes the above.
