Zach is not "White" but he's still entitled. I think you people who are hating on Zach dislike him cause he's not "White". Shame on all of you. Zach deserves to start regardless even if he's not "White". He's the second overall pick damn it. Stop with this ignorance.

I notice that Mike goes out of his way to look for his teammates on the field and on the sideline. Most of the time, guys go up to Zach as he is a top pick and guys gotta make him feel comfortable

I don't know if he's good enough to be the franchise guy, but he deserves the rest of the season to prove himself.

Well I think every single scrap of evidence we have (even just the mere fact that the Jets have kept him on the roster the last few years over how many other options?) points to the fact that White is a very well liked and popular guy. An A+ teammate.

And while we'll just have to see if the boy scout foundation is strong enough to build a playoff win or two off of even if we come up short there are a lot worse things to start off with than good work ethics.

Also lost in the shuffle here is that this really puts a feather in the Jets management cap. It would have been really easy to cut this guy somewhere along the way but they kept him around at the expense of some pretty decent competition (including Flacco at one point) and this is now multiple times when things have gone wrong and they have really needed him unexpectedly he's not just merely come through, but done so with flying colors. Pretty encouraging.

For sure. And it's time for the Jets to stop using him as a guy they can call on in unexpected situations. They need to treat him like the QB1 and potential face of the franchise for the last 6 games and see what he can do with the opportunity.

First off kudos to White for a great game. Extremely well deserved. Pray that continues.
As for Zach future in the NFL,, your bold statement is the same shit Cowboy fans said about White since 2018. How long it takes for a QB to develop or not is not that easy to forecast. Fact is Zach was raw and not remotely ready to be a starter last year, that much is obvious, and I completely blame the CS for throwing him out there when he was not ready. Not to mention the same Jet fans that now shit all over Zach, were also the first to proclaim “ fuck sitting him for a year, you don’t draft someone with the second pick…..blah blah blah BS retórica”
I hope White keeps the magic up all year long. 2023 decisions are a century away right now and we don’t know shit about what the outcome will be.

I think "White" deserves to start. You can judge if it's parody or not.

    101.1 vs. the Bills...Nov. 6th.

50.8 against the Pats last week was his worst rating this year.

It's a big sigh of relief to finally see some competent QB play again. I'm not sure you can teach the quick decision making he has, not necessarily intelligence in the traditional sense but rather the ability to process information at a ridiculous speed. He seems to be making the right reads both pre-snap and post-snap, and also delivering the ball on time with touch. He had some nice throws into tight windows that he had done in the last preseason game as well. He did have a couple of iffy balls in there, but given the experience level and positive plays, that's pretty minor to me. He also seems super likeable, which makes it that much easier to root for him and the team. My biggest concerns with him are arm strength and injury. Arm strength wise, he should have enough having been a baseball pitcher, but some of those sideline throws seem to lack the pace you see with someone like Mahomes. Injury wise, I want to see him survive the rest of the season with nothing that takes him off the field for more than a drive.

All in all, I'm excited by what Mike White has done so far, and excited to see what he can do these upcoming weeks against some pretty tough defenses. I was less excited to see him facing Buffalo last season given how patchwork the offense was at that stage, but with the weapons we have now I'm keen to see that rematch.

I remember he was my dark horse candidate had we gone Saquon Barkley during the infamous 4 QB draft. Admittedly my preference of those top four players was Rosen, which was a complete whiff, based on the field general moniker as I had not seen most of them in live action. The only QBs I did see were those in the Senior Bowl which included White and Allen. Allen didn't impress then, but White showed a lot of what we're seeing now with seeing the field and decision making, but was weirdly overshadowed by Lauletta at the time. In hindsight, I'm sorta glad we didn't end up drafting him, since I think riding the pine behind a competent QB at the Cowboys was probably beneficial over the last few years, and he ended up here anyway!

With regards to Zach Wilson, I supported him as our QB and hoped he could take his game to the next level this season, but it never really eventuated. After the Buffalo game, I was hopefully he could at least be a Sanchez level game manager this year and buy some time to learn, maybe have 2010-like run, but unfortunately he imploded against the Patriots both on and off the field, and that's that for this season I think. He could still become something, but he seriously needs to ride the pine for a while. I honestly don't think there's any good that can come from playing him in the near future, and he needs lots of reps to fix the mechanics issues. Maybe talk to Josh Allen and try to replicate that success story during this offseason. And I've never understood why riding the pine is seen as a negative for Zach, especially given one thing that kept getting brought up as to why White was playing better was that he had been in the league for several years, but if that's the case then there's a lot you can learn off the field.

At the end of the day, I just want to see the Jets succeed and finally have some long term competency at QB. Hopefully Mike White can provide that, but if not, off to the FA market in the offseason.

That's a great point. Last year he had a game like that too, but then had a disastrous outing against Buffalo. Then he was shaky in preseason too. Hopefully this time he can show more consistency. Interestingly, Buffalo game is coming up in two weeks. We will learn a lot more about Mike White in the next couple of weeks. Keeping fingers crossed he can be the guy.

Interestingly White developed a reputation for having a weak arm - dink and dunk kind of guy. Perhaps that's because of what he did in that great game vs Cincy. However, coach Saleh pointed out today that he did that because that's what was open by defense. In his scouting report, and that's all we really have since he didn't play much in NFL, it says the following: "Positives: Big arm. White has the strength to get the football to all three levels and outside the hash." "White’s arm talent is considered to be one of his best attributes. He can throw the ball with good zip but also with touch when required. As a former baseball player, he was apparently capable of throwing a 90+ miles per hour fastball. During his first year at Western Kentucky, White led the nation in 30+ and 40+ yard passes, many of which came on downfield throws."

So, from the arm talent perspective, I don't think there is an issue. He showed some of it today - granted he wasn't Allen or Mahomes, but his TD pass to Moore was pretty effortless 30 yards in the air. He is not that athletic, and might have hard time getting yards on the ground when they are given. I haven't seen that ability in the games his played. Scouting report says this: "White has good height and size and certainly looks the part. However, he’s not very athletic. During the scouting combine, he ran a 5.09 in the 40-yard dash and his explosiveness numbers were terrible. He did run a 4.4 in the short shuttle, which is still below average but much better than the rest of his numbers." Does that limit his ceiling? Probably. But the big arm is there, unlike some misconceptions that I heard before, and perhaps he can develop that part of his game to a certain degree.

Can't wait to see more, particularly against Buffalo, where he struggled last year. I also want to see if he can cut down on INT worthy plays. That was a huge problem last year, particularly on longer throws. Today was a good outing from that perspective, but want to see consistency in that area over longer sample size.

At this point, being better than Zach is not saying much. Not after the game like he just had. This is the second time he did it too, not just game wonder, which was the case last year, and this was actually much better game than against Cincy where he threw two picks and could have had more. The question now is not whether he is better than Zach, but whether he can be FQB. There are 6 games left plus play-offs to find out. If he is, we will have to pay him, but I think he will want to stay since the team is good and he has been here a while. If he balls out the rest of the way, it will not be cheap, but JD will pay. However, I am putting carriage before the horse here. Let's first hope he will answer the question positively on whether he is the FQB and go from there. This is far from certain at this point, but it's a good start.

I agree, the narrative that White is a game manager doesn't reflect what he's really like. He's not mobile, but aside from that, he's actually a high ceiling, low floor QB. He likes to let it rip, and when he makes good decisions, he can have monster games. But he's also prone to interceptions, which he has to correct if he's going to be a long-term starter.

Thanks for sharing that - I was always under the impression his arm strength was average at best.

He looked pretty good today. Threw for a bunch of yards and I think no turnovers. It was great to see.

In Fairness he shoulda been picked once, if he throws for 300 yards 2-3 tds and 1 pick every game its miles ahead of what Zack can do. We don't need White to be Mahomes just top 20 qb in the league and we will make the playoffs.

Mike White is better then Zach Wilson and gives our team the Jets the best chance to win was my fucking point.
Ok who gives us the best chance to win games with our defense and offense players? Zach or White? go with your gut feeling.
