Sanchez did not throw any nice passes. He threw a 3 yard pass to Edwards 3 yards behind him causing Edwards to drop the ball which was ruled a fumble because of the bad throw almost costing us the game, he threw a 5 yard lob to uncovered Holmes in the flat and he threw a ball 5 yards over Edwards head which resulted in an amazing acrobatic catch by Edwards. That drive was all about Cromartie saving the game with a 47 yd kickoff return and Edwards making two great plays to cover for Sanchez's poor play. Sanchez threw no nice throws in that game. Arguably it was one of the worst playoff games ever played by a playoff QB. He missed 3 wide open uncovered receivers for TDs, he was throwing balls 10 yards over receivers head, threw in excusable INT at the half and was so bad the Jets decided to play offense with 10 man in the 2nd half exclusively running the ball getting one TD without a single pass thrown.
I wish McCourty had intercepted him. The defense probably would have given up a field goal at worst, and that may have been enough to get Wilson benched and save the game.
I don't really disagree with your premise (Sanchez was garbage, and he played rubbish in that game) but he did complete a 9 yard, 11 yard and an 18 yard pass in the final minute of the game. Regardless of the acrobatics shown by the receivers, and the second half game plan - that was still superior to anything we saw today. And his overall stats for the game (19-31, 189 yards, 1 int) are also superior to the dross we just watched. Again, not arguing that Sanchez was good. He wasn't. He was bad. I mean, you're right. We should've looked at that Indy game, realised he wasn't good enough to take us to the next level, and brought in some legit competition for him the next season. Instead we tried to convince ourselves that he was clutch and mumble mumble potential. But to have more punts than completions and negative 21 yards passing in the second half is several rungs below Sanchez bad.
23 yds on 20 carries.,... 4 sacks played their butts off. this is not excusing Zach. ive no loyalty to anyone not performing. am ok with Strev. 23 yds on 20 carries. smfh ur delusional
Belichick was taking away the run game. Derrick Henry and the Cowboys O-line wouldn't have been able to get 100 yards. Zach OTOH had a million open receivers and couldn't hit them because either he didn't see them, or when he saw them he missed them.
Zach looked uncomfortable the whole game. Watching some of the replays he doesn't so much throw the ball to a receiver as much as just fling it like it's a hot potato.
we watched the other qb, on the same field in the same weather, get his team into postion for 3 field goal attempts. and, wilson not only couldn't complete short, simple passes, but he threw two picks which the pats dbs dropped.
Defense has allowed 6 points in the last 6 quarters. They are one of the best units in the entire league and they are going to waste an excellent opportunity to actually DO SOMETHING THIS YEAR b/c they need to develop this idiot at QB. Enough already!
First time in Franchise History: The Jets Defense did not allow a touchdown, the offense did not give up a turnover, yet the Jets lost the game.
It is criminal not to make the playoffs with this elite defense, they shut down Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow 3 future hall of famers. If they do not make the playoffs this year Saleh needs to go for being stubborn and refusing to bench the 1 guy who is holding this team back from having a competent offense and we all know who that is.
