1) Bill Bellichick HATES the Jets. He coerced a dying old man into paying that sphincter boy an extra million dollars only to have him reneg on the deal a year later and somehow he believes he was correct in his actions. 2) It doesn't do it any justice to merely say, Jets fans feel the same way about Bellichick. Everyone knows how poorly he thinks of the Jets and his very smug attitude only serves to piss us off even worse. 3) The Jets haven't beaten Bellichick for 13 straight games. He gets an extra serving of pleasure in beating the Jets 4) It's not just the Jets losing its also the scores in those games November 2016 22-17 December 2016 41-3 October 2017 24-17 December 2017 26-6 November 2018 27-13 December 2018 38-3 September 2019 30-14 October 2019 33-0 November 2020 30-27 January 2021 28-14 September 2021 25-6 October 2021 54-13 October 2022 22-17 An AVERAGE score of 31-12 5) More recently, the Jets actually have a very good up and coming team. They are clearly more talented than the patsies and anyone with an ounce of objectivity would confirm as much. 6) Jets fans openly questioned Robert Salehs dedication to breaking the trend. It was bad enough when Bellichick ran up the score on us last season. Just two weeks ago Saleh couldn't get the Jets to come out victorious. Jets fans have, and I wonder, if he even understands how important it is to beat the patsies. What does this equate to? It means the Jets MUST beat the patsies. Honestly, what good is this season of turnaround within the Jets organization if they're getting swept by sphincter boy yet again? This turnaround we're witnessing is as much about breaking down all of the norms and trends as it is making the playoffs and building toward a championship. And let's be honest here... The patsies are straight up GARBAGE. They suck and recently got thumped in their stadium by a Chicago team that'll clearly be picking in the top 5 this spring. We MUST beat Bellichick and we MUST do it NOW.....
Who cares about the past. This game is extremely important for this season. A loss would put the Jets in last place with a 2-2 Div record and 4 losses in conference. They would lose a tiebreak scenario with NE, BAL and CIN. A win puts them in first place and control of their own destiny.
The next game is always the most important game of the season. Win it and you have a chance to go far.
This. Yes this game is very important for several reasons but if Jets win I’m going to bet the Dec 11 game in Buffalo could very well become the most important game of the season ….
This is the one reason why the Jets are the underdogs in my book. He is a master of destroying young quarterbacks, and the reality is that Wilson does not have an experienced Head Coach for support.
If you no one cares about the past then you really aren't much of a Jets fan. Knowing this rivalry is as important as all of the playoff implications. If we lose to the patsies yet again we revert right back to "same Ole Jets"
In more ways than one. The reason why a$$hole has beaten us for so long is because he relies on our LIABILITIES to feed the patsies opportunities. Our LIABILITIES are Zach Wilson first and foremost and to a much lesser degree Saleh. Zach is a f*cking dingbat when he plays the patsies. All he had to do in that last game was not be an idiot and the Jets win simple as that. I swear to christ if Zach starts playing that hero ball BS like he did against the patsies the last time. I'll reach through the TV and strangle him....
Questioning my fandom? Lol. OK. So let's say the jets win this game but lose the next three to Bears Vikings and Bills? It's cool though because they beat the Patriots? Do you know how many players on this roster are the same from when JD took over? The answer is 4 - and one of them is the long snapper. What happened against the Patriots 6 years ago means absolutely nothing.
Look, I dislike the guy as much as you do, but the reality is this: He is a brilliant head coach who knows how to exploit his opponent's weaknesses.
It is a rite of passage game. In order to grow up we need to exercise the demons of our past and make a statement that we are not the SoJ. Like The Bulls needed to get past the Pistons in the 90's but before that they that they needed to get past other teams like the Knicks. The 81 jets needed to beat the Doplhins and we beat them 16-15 in a coming of age game. We lost to Jim Zorn in his debut later but that game against the Dolphins changed our team. The Pats are a stepping stone we need to reach before we can reach for greater goals. But beating the F-ing Pats in their stadium, in front of their obnoxious fans and ending their F-ing season will go a long way to saying things have changed and we aren't your doormat any longer. If we are going to become a championship contender there will be a lot of tests and big games we will need to win but winning this one would be special because of how we have been abused by the Pats for so many years. It would send a message that we are for real and a title contender.
The Jets are underdogs because they are playing on the road against a similar quality team that is well-coached. The way the Jets win this game is on defense since the Pats offense is shaky from time to time this season. The offense needs to do enough to keep the defense off the field as much as possible so they stay fresh. Turnovers will kill us like they did last game against the Pats. The Jets game plan should be Keep It Simple Stupid! That's how we win the game. BTW, I have no sense that Mike Lafleur has realized that the offense is the Jets big Achilles Heel this year. His game plan against the Pats last game suggested he has not come to that fundamental realization. It took Schotty quite awhile to come around in 2009. He kept letting Sanchez throw the ball until about game 11 when it finally clicked. this despite a 38-0 mangling of the Raiders where Sanchez threw the ball just 16 times. Right back to the air for the O after that and 3 more losses before Schotty finally folded up his play card and just went with what worked that year. For the Jets to go anywhere this year Mike Lafleur is going to have to give us a big dose of humility.
Believe whatever you want. Sure, we could still make the playoffs if we lost this weekend. But we'd still be thought of as "same Ole Jets". If the patsies were 8-9 or 9-8 they'd still draw great pleasure knowing they swept the Jets yet again. Us as Jets fans knew even when we had the very worst team or close to it we still would have drawn great pleasure and consolation in beating the patsies. So say what you want, but I don't think there's a fan out there that wouldn't draw great satisfaction from breaking the streak on our way to the playoffs....
I think our defense is better than their defense. It doesn't show as much in the numbers because our defense sucked for the first 3 games of the season but we're better at each level of the defense right now.
The game plan is clear as far as I'm concerned.. 1) The Jets need their front 4 to create constant and steady pressure on Mac Jones. The same as against any team they face. Don't have to blitz, just get necessary penetration and disruption with the front 4. 2) If 1 is working this allows Ulbrich and Saleh to get exotic with their coverage. Put a new wrinkle in the defensive game plan designed to confuse Jones and take advantage of his immaturity. Turnovers being the most ideal outcome. 3) Do NOT let Zach play that f*cking hero ball bullshit. Tell him to stop being an idiot and rely on his teammates who are there to help him. Short quick decisive passes mixed in with lots of play action and roll outs. USE your legs if necessary. Don't go crazy and injur yourself, slide to prevent getting hit but use your legs to your advantage. MANAGE the game don't try to win it by yourself. 4) CORRECT all the mistakes from special teams the last time we played them. Preventing mistakes gives sphincter boy no opportunities to take advantage of....
I actually think the Dec 11th game at Buffalo and/or the season finale at Miami will be bigger. I wouldn't be shocked if either one of those games gets flexed to SNF. As for the Pats its time to beat the guys. Winning this week would go a long way to improving our playoff chances.
My simplistic view on this. The next game is always the most important, regardless of the opponent. Period, end of story. Win the next game, and the next, and so forth and you don't have to worry about any team. That is completely out of our control except when we play against them. The first discriminator is always the number of wins and losses, so all games have essentially equal value. I say essentially because beating the teams in the AFC has the added advantage of a tie breaker for playoff standings, but it wont mean two shits if you beat the Pats and lose two after that. Never look beyond your next opponent and never ever look back. . Sure, this game has a lot of built in emotional history, and the media will have a field day with it, great for selling tickets, but history has no bearing on this season. In fact, the best thing for this young team to do is ignore the past and walk in with supreme confidence like you own them. Fuck giving any more credence to BB and overthink the same old crap and instead go in fully confident that we are a better team, with a deeper roster, and with all the tools to kick the shit out of them. Impose your will and force them to change their game plan. Want to steal a page from BB,then each player just needs to do his job to the best of his ability, and the victory is ours. Just avoid costly mistakes and do not allow the noise get into our heads. Stick with sound principles. DL and Ol need to impose their will for ninety minutes. And a new chapter in history will be be born. And after we beat them, just say great, now fuck them, who is next up.
Talentwise, the Jets defense is better than the Patriots. The gap is significantly narrowed when including the coaches of each defense.
