I have not followed your posts. There is a difference between critical and fair and a hater

Watching that play live, I felt like Uzomah jumped unnecessarily on that play which contributed to what happened.

I'll have to go back and watch it again to see if I still feel that way.

Big shoutout to MLF too. He dialed up a beauty of a gameplan and it worked to perfection.

I was told that Zach was too stupid to learn from his mistakes.

Only issue I can see is when opposing defenses catch on and start to take away the quick passing game.

Can anyone else remember a Jets Quarterback who was 5-1 in a season that got this much scrutiny from Jets fans?

Going back and watching the YT video that was posted, I really only see like 3-4 bad plays from Zach total.

The high throw to Mims (1:52 mark in the YT vid). Hits Mims in the hands so he "should've" caught it but it was an off-target throw by Zach. Not sure what really caused it as his footwork looks solid and his release wasn't impacted as far as I can tell. I think he just sails the throw a bit.

Missed throw to Berrios (2:32 in vid). Fairly clean pocket but Von Miller looks like he's about to beat Laken who pulls on the play, Zach senses it and tries to hit his check down in Berrios but because Von is directly in that throwing lane, he can't really step into the throw or adjust his base which leads to him not getting enough on the throw and it falls short.

Strip sack by Von Miller (5:32 in vid). It's somewhat excusable because it's against Von Miller but Zach's gotta have better pocket presence here. He either has step up into the pocket here and take a short sack or realize that he's out of time and throw it away. An example of what trying to play hero ball against one of the best edge rushers of all time will do. By far his worst play of the day as it possibly took 3 points off the board at a time when we were only down 14-10.
*Quick aside on this play, fast forward the YT video to the 6:23 mark and you'll see what Zach should've done on this play. Maybe not exactly the same but shows you how much better it can go when you step up into the pocket as opposed to retreating backwards/laterally.

Zach misses Conklin on an out (7:01 in vid). Looks like he double clutches here so I think that contributed to his inaccurate throw here. It looks like Zach is expecting Conklin to make a much cleaner break out of his stem at the top of this route but it looks like Conklin gives an extra shimmy to really sell this out route that Zach didn't expect and it throws him off rhythm. This is a tough spot to miss though. This was a 3rd & 8 that would've given us a 1st down right at midfield, maybe even better depending on what Conklin does after the catch.

However, all these things seem trivial compared to what we've seen from Zach over the last couple of games. Watching this video back a couple of times confirmed what I was seeing in real-time. This was the most comfortable and confident I've seen Zach look in the pocket since the Miami game. MLF dialed up a beauty of a gameplan that really played to Zach's strengths. If Zach and MLF can keep this train rolling after the BYE, I see absolutely no reason that we can't make the playoffs this year.

I can definitely see the Pats doing this in a couple of weeks after seeing this film.

It'll be up to MLF to try and counter that and then on Zach to execute the gameplan.

I was pissed with Zach last week after the Pats game. I think it was just my darkside coming out though. The Jets only chance to beat the bills is if Zach played good enough to compliment the run game. This was a big game for him and the Jets. I hope MLF works with his strength now.

KY those were drive killing plays though, that's what is so discouraging. I'll lay off Wilson's back because they won but he's got to hit those

on the Conklin miss… that was announced in the stadium as being “tipped at the line”. I don’t think it was and that was the only backbreaker to me. An NFL WR makes the catch that Mims didn’t make and the Berrios throw I’ll attribute tl a young QB being terrified of a hall of famer about to break free.

If Josh Allen had the game he had yesterday, but on the Jets, there’d be a trade Josh Allen thread and a “Start whatever scrub backup” thread

Im not so sure. The Pats defense is really not that good at all. If Zach took what was given to him against New England last week, they would’ve ran the Pats out of the building.

3 of them were. The miss to Berrios was on 1st down and the very next play Zach throws a dart to GW on a huge gainer that gets us on the BUF side of the field.

He's still a 2nd year QB so he's gonna make mistakes and miss some throws. Hell, look at Josh Allen yesterday. Even great NFL QBs make mistakes and miss throws from time to time, that's why even the best QBs in the league hover around 65%+ in terms of completion % and not 90-100%.

The Mims play was an off target throw but Mims could've easily come down with it. It was a miss but it wasn't a terrible miss IMO. His worst play of the day was the strip sack. Can't have those. Like I said, I give him a little bit of slack considering it was against Von Miller and he does that to literally everybody but still, cant have those. The Conklin miss was his 2nd worst play IMO behind the strip sack. I know Conklin's route threw him off a bit and messed up the timing but he's got to reset and hit that pass on a huge 3rd down late in the game.

The main takeaway for everybody from this should be if these are the worst mistakes Zach makes in games going forward, it'll be a very positive step in his development. Zach just has to start stacking these types of games together.

The thing is it is not that easy to stop on time throws like he threw today. The best way to do it is to play man. If you play man it opens up the run and the QB run. If Zach steps up and runs like he did a few times this game I am not worried about them trying to take these routes away. As long as we stay ahead of the chains this type of offense is really hard to stop.

It might have gotten tipped at the LOS. It's really hard to tell from the broadcast angle. We'll probably have a better look at it as the All-22 replays start to trickle out.

That was exactly the type of game this team needs from Zach. Textbook management of the game. I counted two bad throws, and the fumble was rough. Outside of that, I thought he was very good.

You could tell he took to heart the criticism from last week. He stayed in the pocket and threw some well timed darts. I don't recall seeing him run backwards at all.

Play exactly like this in two weeks, and the Jets are looking at a 7-3 start, with Detroit/Jacksonville/Chicago on the schedule.

Again, great gameplan from MLF and Zach executed it almost to perfection.
