instant gratification? how many times have we gone through the same story? draft a qb high, new CS, qb is crappy for 3 years...rinse and repeat. it is just tiring that they keep doing the same thing but doesn't work.
Zach has barely had what, 16 games under his belt…and fans are ready to exodus him? Cmon NY will never develop a QB under circumstances you guys want him to develop.
history has shown nyj have never been competent in developing a qb, doesn't seem to be changing. Forget # of games for a minute, he's making he same mistakes over and over, keeps trying to play hero ball. he's will be another back up sooner than later
That is just his prorated bonus money, the dead money would be $126M if traded because all the bonus money moves forward, he would also count $97M against the cap Some posters just don't think of all the ramifications before posting their trade scenarios. Even trading before next season he would still have a $67M cap hit and almost $100M dead money
Actually on the Jets side the cap hit would be great, $600K for the rest of this season and $1.2M next season, 2024 would still only be $18M. Pack would have way too much on the cap for someone not playing for them for it to make sense
If you could make the trade without jeopardizing the future, by that I mean giving up multiple high picks, you do it in a heartbeat. Obviously you have to include Wilson in the deal because you can’t keep him once you make the trade, and perhaps his potential is something the pack would want and is why they’d make a trade. But I don’t see it happening.
I wouldn't exactly call the GB numbers guys amazing, the cap hit in 2025 is over $59M and 2026 $54M. They really just figured Rodgers will be gone by then and they'll only have to worry about the prorated bonus money as dead money and cap hits of $20-$30M. Not sure how the cap hits would work depending on when he would be gone.
I was just using overthecap's dead money and cap savings figures. For some reason they have him at just $27M in dead money on a post-Jun 1st trade.
OMG, yeah, lets give him 50 million and like 5 number 1s and that will hellp us out. I just don't know where people come up with these crazy ideas.
Yes, I was looking at pre-June 1st but I can't see how their numbers for post June 1st can be right since the bonus already paid doesn't transfer over or go away. I'm not highly knowledgeable on the cap though so I could be wrong
How has this thread not been locked yet? This is the dumb-assiest suggestion I ever seen in all my years of sports fandom
He's had a season and a half. He's going to get at least another half a season. If nothing substantial changes in two months what's the odds they will in the next year?
Nah screw that. It’s been way too long. If there was a vet could be brought in that gets this team to the promised land in the next couple years I’ll take it. If that happens Douglas won’t be going anywhere, a new QB can be drafted on to a Super Bowl caliber roster, and we can find a good QB coach.
100000% agree with this. i am tired of the of 50+ years of rebuild!!! can carr, jimmy g blossom in this offense? i mean can they do any worse?
