sure. the 1999 team was, the 2003 team was, and the 2005 team was too. they were all headed for championships, they were all the "next year" team that we always talk about. fuck that. our chance at on our way to a championship was today, and we blew it, end of story. the future looks bright bullshit is just that, its bullshit, it never materalizes, thats why we havent won a Super Bowl in close to 40 years. theres always next year, too bad thats never the year. today was the only day we had control of, and again, squandered the chance. anybody who thinks that 2007 is a lock for anything is mis informed. the team had a great year this year, and hopefully will make some upgrades and be ready to go next year, but its simply not a guarantee, it can all fall apart, we have 40 years to prove it, so today was all that mattered.

So what would you do? Did you really expect the Jets to repeat the Steelers feat of last year and win 3 games on the road and the Super Bowl.

There was no way I saw us making the Super Bowl this year. I thought we could beat the Pats in a close game, but I expected to lose in SD next week. And that would have been okay. We're not at the next level yet.

Awesome awesome post, thanks for putting it succinctly and accurately.

    DW,

I am pretty new to this forum. Thanks for being a classy Pats fan and not the stupid troll that you find on some other forums. Good luck the rest of the way. My season of rooting for and against a football team is over.

is it your argument that because the Jets did not win it this year than they won't next year? that is completely illogical. if that was the case, the same team would win the Super Bowl every year, because the year before every other team would have lost and therefore would be incapable of winning the next year.

if there is another point in your post, please reiterate it, because all I see is that the Jets only chance to win a Superbowl was today and because they did not they won't, simply because they have been unable to do so up to this point.

who won the Superbowl last year? Steelers. did they win it the year before? no. how were they, and so many other teams, able to win a Superbowl one year after not having won it the year before if that was somehow a requirement to do so?

yes, the Jets won't win it this year. yes, that is disappointing. no, that does not mean they can't or won't next year.

perhaps the Jets organization should just pack it in and not try next year just because they did not win it this year, is that what they should do. because if you are saying that can't next year or any year afterwards, what is the point of trying? or for that matter, us watching? I guess you will just not watch next year because there is no reason to.

no idea, point is we were in the dance and let the next year expectations begin, to inevitably fail again. thats the way it works. thats why today was our only chance at the Super Bowl, good luck with the next year bullshit.

I feel for you guys. It's for me to even go on my forum of choice when we lose. It's like crawling over broken glass.

Under Herm, I never felt scared of the Jets. I always knew deep down that under his guidance, you never had a real chance.

    No More.

The Jets are clearly on the right path now. You can just sense it it. It's real. I see you guys taking the torch from us as much as that sickens me..

    Keep your heads up.

Hahah, always nice to see that despite wallowing in their own misery, Jet fans can still muster the hate and spite toward a fellow rival.

Thanks for the kind words DW, classy posts. We do have a lot to look forward to and I am sure we will have many more spirited battles with New England.

I hate the Pats as much as any other Jets fan. But let's be realistic here. They will beat the Chargers.

    Yes, I am.

And the reason for that is Dirtywater's above post.
