I think this would provide some short term repair, but I think Elijah has shown his true colors and Douglas and Saleh have seen them. It would be helpful to the Jets if Moore came back and apologized and kept his mouth shut, but I think his time as a Jet is limited.

This has been going on for 2 full days now. If there was going to be the “come towards the light” moment, I feel like he would have already come out and said “My bad. I was reacting emotionally but I’ve thought about it and I apologize to everyone associated with the team, including the fans.” But he hasn’t done this, and the more that outside voices back him up, the more he digs his heels in. When this news broke on Thursday I thought there was zero chance he was traded but at this point he has to go. That said, there’s no way I trade him to Philly to reunite with his buddy. The whole situation has a particular tampering vibe to it imho

Trade him to Chicago, they might be desperate enough to overpay to save their jobs. And it would serve him right.

I would assume the Jets would not want him to talk until Monday. Don't need to take away from the team anymore this week before the Broncos game. If he doesn't show any remorse on Monday, then I would agree he has to go. I still feel it can be resolved in house and he can remain a Jet. Time will tell.

Perhaps after watching the game from his couch instead of the side lines Moore will regret his moronic behavior and be eager to rejoin the team Monday to be a part of the action again.

I disagree with the notion that we are a ground and pound team. That is not who we are at all. It is merely the way we are playing right now because of whom our opponents and where MLF, Zach, our OL, and our offense as a whole are in terms of their development. Before long, Zach will be throwing at least 25, if not 30-35 times a game.

I'm not going to make any assumptions about how the locker might feel about Moore right now. As someone already pointed out, how defensive players think/feel about an offensive player can be totally different than how that player's offensive teammates think/feel about him. We know the disdain that many defensive players have had for their QB over the years. I'm going to wait and see how this plays out next week. If Moore doesn't apologize and eat crow for a while, then I agree that he needs to go, but it needs to be made clear to him that if he opens his mouth publicly again or causes a problem in the locker room that he'll be traded to the CFL or to an Arena Football team or he'll be kept on the bench for the remainder of his rookie contract and fined every time he opens his mouth. Let's see how big of a 2nd contract he gets if he winds up sitting on the bench for the next 2 years.

Two days is plenty of time for cooler heads to prevail. They haven’t. No need to be a douchebag

I totally disagree. I'm certain that when the Jets sent him home they told him he'd better keep his freaking mouth shut or the consequences would be much worse than getting benched for a week. They could suspend him indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team. He wouldn't rack up any stats sitting on his couch. They may or may not be able to not pay him if they suspended him, but that would help his resume any. They could bench him for the remainder of his rookie contract. They could trade him to the worst team and situation that they could find. He has zero leverage. If he has a brain at all, he'd better STFU, learn, and grow from this situation. If not, good riddance.

I think we'll have a much better idea of where things stand on Monday and next week.

Kudos to Saleh for keeping this an internal matter. I truly expect this situation to be rectified by Saleh, JD, and Moore.

Breece Hall liked both Sauce's tweet and Damien Woody's. Does that count?

No. To be honest. What counts is words directly from a player to the NY Post talking exactly about the situation who is also the closest positional player to the situation. Everything else including tweets is speculation IMO.

It’s pretty obvious Moore needs to play in the slot. Moore had the 2nd most receptions ever at Ole Miss. He’s used to getting the ball and targets. He’s not. His complaint was poorly done, but he’s 22. That’s simply a maturity issue.

…And probably doesn’t respect MLF especially since coming from under Lane Kiffin. I don’t believe any of the players respect MLF. It was a nepotism hire. Players know it. Two talented WRs saying they want trades is a problem. Mims you understand since he was a Gase/JD pick. But Moore was Saleh/MLF/JD pick.

Mims or Moore get traded, and ball out, MLF seat gets real hot at that point. Can’t trade away premium young players. We need to develop talent.
