Well, this could be Mims's last shot here. Has an opportunity to steal the starting spot from Moore. At least the outside spot. Moore would be best used in the slot anyway.
I don’t think it’d happen mid season nor would I want it to. But I want them to go get Terry. He can be to Allen what Diggs was. I think this is a good R-E-L-A-X moment for Jets fans. It’s gonna be fine and this will likely go away quickly.
It’ll go away quickly if they come out on Sunday and beat Denver. Winning solves everything, unless your name is Elijah Moore.
When we're running the ball like we are right now none of the receivers are going to get that many looks - nor should they. I don't expect the game plan to change much vs Denver who has a great secondary but can be vulnerable to the run. Moore is a talented player, it's a shame to see this display of immaturity. It's time Mims got his shot while Moore cools his heels and learns some humility.
WR's around the league are getting worse and worse with this type of stuff, unproven 2nd year guy demanding a trade is the most ridiculous thing I have seen since Michael Crabtree holding out in his rookie season..... the ego's on the guys at that position are always comically larger than any other position, even QB somehow!
I am completely stunned by this. Moore was supposed to be the complete package, which included personality and team-oriented mind frame. He's best friends with AJ Brown, so I wonder if the recent WR trade market emergence, and that friendship catalyzed this. I'm not at all worried about anything because the Jets don't have to do anything with him. I'm a huge, huge fan of him as a receiver - I think he can be a top 25 guy in the NFL - and believe MLF has screwed up not getting him even a small number of guaranteed touches each game, but it shouldn't come to this for a guy as inexperienced and unproven as Elijah.
The Jets would be insane to trade him for anything other than a starter at a position of need. Making him inactive and activating Mims is a complete no-brainer move.
A big part of the Jets success has to be how they're pulling together, and setting aside their individual desires for the sake of the team. And then there's Moore. IMO, selfishness isn't something you just decide to change. Exercise the "Branch Rickey Dictum": Addition by subtraction.
What the fuck? That escalated quickly! Everyone seemed to love the guy. BUT, if they can get a starter in return at a different position, I would not be opposed.
I said this on the other thread, but as it turns out, I was dead right. CAN’T WE FUCKING WIN IN PEACE? This guy, I swear to God, man
Elijah seemed to me like the perfect slot receiver but the guy has accomplished nothing yet and he believe he is TO or something. Wtf is wrong with these players? The team is winning for the first time in years and the selfish players standout. I want him gone but at the sametime we should question ourselves why we failed so many top picks under JD like Becton, Mims and now Elijah. They have to get more team player than them.
The Jets have three more years of team control and hasn’t been apart of the wins nor has he produced a lot in the NFL. The dude is dead in the water with a trade request.
Spot on. This isn't even about a usage thing anymore. It's about give me the damn ball. The guy is playing 85% of the snaps and is 4 targets from being 2nd most on the team. Insane timing for this.
What's the record for quickest trade request in NFL history? Not counting #1 picks like the Eli situation. This has to be an emotional snap decision. It makes 0 sense, he has 0 leveraged, and nobody is going to be on his side outside of his circle.
