A pass that is not forward in direction is a live ball in play. Wherever it winds up and whoever has it is what rules it's possession and location. That said, it is not a fumble, in that it can be advanced by whoever picks it up, offense or defense.
There were plenty of mistakes we could not make without losing this game. That was not the loser and it's not over.
Probably was. Not sure I like the rule, have to accept that the guys out there should have known it though, especially pennington - just shout to cotchery or brick, ffs.
Field Goals vs. Touchdowns That is what lost this game. Down 7-0, defense creates a turnover and we get 3. Defense gets exhausted at the end of the first half and Patriots drive and get a touchdown at the end of the half (55 missed the assignment). We get the ball to start the second half and execute almost flawlessly but once again only get 3. If we put 7 up in those situations, this game is completely different. Three times in the red zone for 9 points. That is what lost the game.
Yep, that was the ballgame. Gotta put up 7 when you get inside the 10 and the Jets failed twice to do that. Mangini has to be pissed at himself that he kicked the 21 yard field goal from 4th and 1.5 on the 3.5 yard line. When they panned to the sidelines before the play I felt I could see the wheels turning in his head just before he sent out the FG team. Parcells go's for 7 on that play every time unless a FG ties the game or better. Belichik kicks the FG. Mangini did the Belichik thing and the Jets lost. Must be tearing him up atm.
