It must be time to start this one off - I can't remember us picking this late for years!

    Current picks 17, 48, 79, 110, 141, 161 172

There must be something wrong with that chart I can't find us in the top 10? Maybe they it's upside down?

I’m guessing the Jets wind up somewhere in the low teens …. but I haven’t even looked at the players yet.

This could really suck. My favorite part of being a Jet fan is the draft and the lead-up to the draft. Watching actual Jet games well that rarely has worked out well. But, the draft is fun. The draft is hopes and dreams. It is a magical time of what could be. It is kind of like the Grinch sitting on the mountain half way through the Grinch special hoarding his loot and imagining his criminal empire before everything goes bad the rest of the show. The draft offers that brief time of magical hope that maybe things could be different this time before reality crushes us once again. Picking in the 20's would take a lot of the fun out of it. It would almost be like trading our 1st round pick every year and just starting in round two.

I hear you man. I love draft as well and having high picks makes it extremely fun. But on the other hand, winning is more fun. I rather have an exciting December and January than an exciting March and April. But I hear you :)

That sounds like a long year. I am not sure I am in football watching shape for a 4 month season as I have been conditioned on the idea of a 2-3 week season for 10 years now. Maybe we could compromise and have an exciting year up until Halloween then go back to tank mode and draft prep. Then we could get the best of both worlds?

Philly owning the Saints pick is actually scary. They can easily flip that pick for more 1's or if Will Anderson slips because QB needy teams above NOLA. Jesus.

Sure the draft is fun but the whole point is to built a championship team. At some point the Jets need to reap the benefits. Noam we need to get you out of that funk lol ….

The Jets picking at say #14 can be just as fun especially now that the Jets don’t need help at every single position any longer. It’s kind of like watching the team solve a puzzle… besides we know JD likes to jump around which makes the evening more interesting.

The draft Is actually even better when you are winning, picking late, and It really forces a GM that wants to build a consistently good team, to really earn their money and hit on a much wider range of talent. It makes watching film, the possibilities of prospects, even more intense. IMO.

I for one. Love the draft. Love watching college prospects, etc... If nothing else, rooting for a loser of a team for so many years, has made my eye for talent better over the years. Not that I'm anywhere near the guys that get paid for a living, well, the actual good ones.

    Point Is.

Just fucking win. Talent will still be available to us, even If we do fuck around and win another Super bowl one day.

If things weren't bad last week now we are really screwed. Tankathon has us picking 25th? That is like a 4 hour wait of listening to people like Kiper. That cannot be good for our brains.

25th? Next thing you know the Knicks will not get any ping pong balls in the lottery. Let's go for 27th after next week.

Currently we are picking 26th. A Buffalo loss and ooh man this looks like it could be a long long wait until we get on the clock.

The waaay too early draft position. Drafting in the bottom 10, precious, Drafting in the last two of round one would be a dream of a life time.

It was only a few weeks ago where all the mock drafts had us picking 1st next year.

Something like 10th to 22nd but, realistically, probably 13-17.
