yes the refs were shit yet again…we got hit with ticky tack PI calls…there was one where Sauce had his head turned and was playing the ball and they called it. I think it was Hill but not sure. The Conklin one the DB didn’t have his head turned yet they didn’t call that one. total BS on a related note, there was a roughing the Passer call against Atlanta yesterday for throwing Brady to the ground that was a suspect call as well…I guess Atlanta is learning that you’re not allowed to do anything other than two hand touch to Brady. We’ve been living that for years
This is actually incorrect. We beat the Dolphins and the Bills in JD's first year (2019), so this is JD's 3rd divisional win in his 4th season. To your point though, that's still not great.
I think there were a couple of differences. Conklin jumped up and didn't try to come back to the under thrown ball, and the phins defender didn't have his hands around Conklin. No doubt Conklin was contacted way before the ball got there though but I guess that's harder for the refs to see than a hand on the back. These under thrown ball DPI penalties are ludicrous. Jets WRs need to get better at selling a genuine attempt to work back to the ball.
Maybe, but there’s roll outs, and a straight fly route on the outside doesn’t take that much time to develop/ get the throw off
I'll say this about the refs. They gave us a safety when the TE was clearly in the area and the QBs arm was hit. That was a big call.
Also, did anyone see Bridgewater's head get hit? It looked like he got hit in the ribs and went down on his shoulder. I thought it was going to be his elbow since it got hit. Not sure where the concussion came in? Did I miss something?
I believe his head hit the turf. If the Tua thing never happened he would have been back in that game. I also heard someone upstairs saw him stumble.
The left side of his head kissed the turf... but it didn't look that hard. I think Teddy B. had two concussions last year... maybe they were being extra cautious after the Tua fiasco...
here is a thread on the new rule and reasoning why Teddy was ruled out rather than be allowed back in by Pelissero
I'm all for safety. But giving "spotters" the power to remove players, and the proliferation of sanctioned gambling on the NFL, will start to stink someday.
Spot on. I’m amazed as to how well the pieces are fitting in a pinch now. Our rookie RT was a gem of a find. AVT is simply amazing with his versatility, Brown coming in is helping that side a lot, Herbig is finding himself a home at RG. Am I wrong in thinking the weakest link so far this year is left guard. When our two tackles come back from IR it will an interesting dilema
I'm over the moon that we won guys--I'll take it. I know I get a lot of heat on this forum because I can be overly critical but here is how I see it: This last draft class is historic, JD is the right guy at GM. Saleh- I love him as a person and motivator, I'm still not sure of him with X and O--my observation is when his first plan is exploited it takes him awhile to make adjustments. Again, maybe I'm wrong Oline- Better than what I thought, AVT, Max Mitchell will be here for 10 years, Herbig was a great add as well Wilson- still feel like unless he gets a lot of help, he's lacked consistency and ability to consistently make big throws. I have hope that he will grow...but still don't feel great. I love that the team is winning though. I can be a die hard fan and be critical, I've earned it after 20 years of being a fan =).
Haha I knew you would bring this up. I can be a Jets fan and prefer a different player. Players in the NFL don't have loyalty to the teams btw. I think Trevor has shown more than Zach to this point-- IF you prefer a different player on a different team, it doesn't mean you're rooting against your team. That's like saying I'm a 49ers fan because I preferred Bosa. Back to the main point-- I feel like Lawrence would be doing better on this team than he is in Jacksonville as well. He has been more consistent and durable than Zach has been to this point. Only area I feel Zach has been better is ball security in the pocket. Hope Wilson becomes Aaron Rodgers and I eat crow =)
