Agreed, said as much during the 3rd Qtr of the Games Thread ("The Jets' best Left Tackle was Vera-Tucker this whole time..."). The O-Line got much better once AVT moved over to Left Tackle. A bunch of good video of him from yesterday here. Very smart and outstanding technique.
How does Wilson's mobility play into these statistics? I am not familiar with how they are tabulated.
X factor breaks down AVT's day. https://jetsxfactor.com/2022/10/03/alijah-vera-tucker-avt-left-tackle-ny-jets-film/
Four years with the same OL problems Bad luck or Bad Management? At least Wilson has some practice last game at side stepping the pass rush ...give him credit for that The Team will have an OL for Sunday but you have to play the cards you are dealt
AVT should be our LT, today, tomorrow & every day going forward. This kid hasn’t been talked about nearly enough. He started a game at LT with what? 3 days of practice at the position and not only held his own he played pretty darn well. It’s a lot easier to find a RG than it is LT and if AVT can be the LT of the present & future it makes him that much more valuable.
it would…it was super impressive and he’s looked to be a very good draft pick. Not sure if he’s a tackle long term, but the fact that he was able to hold his own there yesterday was very impressive and kudos to the coaches for thinking outside the box on this one
That is really great news! Get Mitchell then Brown back healthy and maybe things can be fixed. Interested to see how well Herbig played at RG yesterday.
Uh oh. "Dislocation of the knee"? "Out for several weeks"? In Jets terminology that's "season ending".
