If Jets win next week against the Bengals, it will give me enough motivation to drive to Pittsburgh on Saturday and spend a night there and watch the Jets and come back. Anybody did Pittsburgh before? Any insights?
That sounds like a great plan. Steelers fan as far as other fanbases are some of the most passionate and friendly group I've ever come across. Also, Pittsburgh is actually a pretty cool place just to bump around in for a day or two. Good food. Go for it Brook.
I’ve never been there, but I’ve heard of a sandwich place right around the stadium that is supposed to be killer.
Loved my trip to Pittsburgh back a few years ago. Beautiful city when the weather is nice, in fact, I wanted to go see the Mets play there over Labor Day but I couldn't make it. As it turned out, the Monday game was rained out. Would have been pissed as hell had I schlepped 8 hours to be denied LOL. Go see the Duquesne Incline when you go, that thing is a trip and a half.
It's a good city for a roadtrip game in that it's unique. You will find plenty of stuff to do if you came in on a friday or early saturday. Cool bridges and you can ride the inclines for super cheap, those are experiences in themselves because they are old school. If you like cigars like me Rocky Patel has a lounge in the city, gotta check that out. Last time I was there with the wife though she identified this fancy restaurant ahead of time that was supposedly highly rated in the city and it was very disappointing and left me wondering about the place
Oh yes for sure. Pittsburgh is a very underrated city. They have a little bit of everything you might like. And the weather should still be nice enough, maybe a little cool so you can take in a lot of what the city has to offer. I love dive bars and when I went I mostly hit up those spots and watched a game amongst the Steeler fans. That's an experience on to its self. You'll have a fun time if you spend two days there.
Pittsburgh is a GREAT city. Yes you can spend two nights there no problem. Lots of grest restaurants, bars, shit to see and friendly people.
Yep my point exactly. Especially about the friendly people and bars. It's also to bad their baseball team stinks cause PNC Park is a beauty.
I travel to the Burgggg often, actually heading there in this week for work. I would recommend staying down at the William Penn or the Hilton Garden Inn downtown. Both are a quick walk across the bridge to the stadium. Some real good restaurant spots Eddie V's is high end Steaks and seafood. Capital Grill is close and there is a place called the Butcher and the Rye. I would say Primanti brothers is very overrated and not good. Safe City with a cool vibe.
Thanks RJ Appreciate the hotel recommendations. Hilton Garden Inn is $729 for Saturday night. Dang it. I guess Jets fans travel well.
Pretty sure you're referring to Primanti Brothers. I was in Pittsburgh recently with some friends and we went there for the first time. So good.
Hotel prices for Saturday night are insane. Anybody from Pittsburgh to let me crash on their couch? Wow.
