Been a Jets fan since 1971. Never saw anything like today's game - ever. But there is something I've been pondering in the beautiful aftermath of yesterday's unlikely, amazing, flabbergasting and unprecedented in Jets history victory. After the Jets recovered the onside kick...do they march down the field and score what turned out to be the game winning touchdown...if Zach Wilson was at quarterback? The question cannot be definitively answered, but speculation may ensue. Thoughts?
With everything I have I want to believe Zach would have led them into the EZ as well, but that last throw by Flacco was so good on that seam route...I'm not sure Zach could have made the same pitch to Wilson for the TD.
It was a nice throw... but that route by G. Wilson was even nicer. Who knows how the game would have played out with Zach under center... but we'll get some idea in a few weeks.
I think ZW would of pulled it off, prob in a different way and different play calling. But we just have to give that kid time, I know he has the confidence and skills to get it done
What if Flacco rolls again next week against the Bengals, the offense is purring, and the Jets find themselves at 2-1 and feeling ultra good about themselves heading into the Pittsburgh game. Does Wilson get the nod no questions asked?
Maybe you should just sit back and enjoy the win, we all know Wilson is the #1 and in the NFL that means they walk straight back into the team regardless of what the understudy has done, you see it time and time again, granted mostly at RB guy goes for a 100 yards but #1 is back and he is off the page, not even a play or two as a, you did great last week gesture lol I believe that was Flacco's first win as a Jet QB, that is a stat for your next question, will Flacco win again as a Jet QB?
We don't have to get cunty here, okay? "Just enjoy the win." I enjoyed the motherfuck out of it. I'm simply theorizing a potential situation that might come to pass. Now, go get me a beer.
Well, we all know that "all times are approximate" when rehab schedules are concerned. With that in mind, I suspect If the scenario comes about as stated above Wilson might not be at 100% come week four. That has also not been a firm date as many would have us believe but an estimate and we know how such things have gone around here, even less than two weeks ago.
I've seen nothing from Zach Wilson thus far that makes me remotely confident he would have also completed this comeback. I am not a Flacco supporter, but if the Jets keep winning with him, they have to keep starting him. Zach had an entire season to show me something and Mike White did more in a single game. The Titans game was nice but he even had bad moments in that game. His biggest highlight was either the broken Corey Davis play or the long TD run vs Jags. Both of which are nice but not indicative of 99% of QB play. Want to see him stand in the pocket and deliver some accurate deep throws without turnovers just once.
Thats kinda the disappointing aspect to yesterdays game, Flacco did it, ya it was a good game, but would've really been something to see Wilson do it, give you hope for the future.
We are so desperate at this point, I kind of just don't care anymore. I just want to see wins. Don't care if its Brownie the Elf at QB.
The very reason we have Flacco as a reserve, it is to avoid the QB situation you espouse in your post. When Wilson is fit he will be straight back in the team regardless of what Flacco has done in the last game or two games if he beats the Bengals.
And can Flaccos miracle game be repeated on a consistent basis?? We dont know if they flop against the Bengals and play like the first QTR of the Browns game..remember its not just JF its the whole Team and the CS Before I get too elated lemme see another win or verry close game imo
Two weeks ago Flacco was an old, slow as dirt, trash QB who held the ball way too long. People wanted him benched and replaced with the White Knight. Today people are talking about staring him even when Wilson is healthy. Only in Jetsland. This fanbase.....good God .
this is the jets. Let’s get there first then talk about it. would be a nice problem to have for a change though
Wild isn’t it? Lol I will say from the QB class, lance destroyed his ankle, and Fields their CS simple doesn’t trust him to make the plays in the passing game. Wilson at least showed indication that he can make plays passing. TLaw def looked good yesterday. We won’t know what he can do fully but gotta love the weapons are there at least…I want to see it all together for once. But we will get there in a few weeks. Go Jets!
