No surprise. Besides the Cowboys, the Jets had the worst performance of the week. The good news is they should get much better, but the bad news is it is hard to argue with the current #32 ranking after one game.
How much did you save after your gave up your season tix? I think you were smart and gave it right on time.
Coach Saleh would tell you that you spelled "receipts" all wrong and bring out his dictionary to prove he was right!
Can’t find ESPN but found Bleacher Report that had us as high as 4th that year https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/86666-2008-nfl-power-rankings-week-13.amp.html
I doubt we have ever been number one in the rankings. They did not have power rankings in 1986 or we might have been number one when we were 10-1. Maybe in 1998 but I doubt we ever got higher than Denver. It could be possible we got to number 2? In 2000 when we started 5-1 we were likely very high as well as 2008 after beating Tennessee. My bet is those three would be our highest in power rankings. Sometime in 1998 then at 5-1 in 2000 and then 2008 after Tennessee. Am I missing another time when we might have been ranked as high as top 5?
The latest it was possible was after Thanksgiving in 2010 when we beat the Bengals to improve to 9-2, tied with the Pats for the best record in the NFL. Plus we'd beaten the Pats earlier in the season, so there may have been somebody out there who ranked us #1.
Week 8 2010 season was our highest. Glad I found below link http://www.espn.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2010/week/8
The Jets are the worst franchise in the NFL and that takes some real effort with mud guppies like the Lions and Jags around.
This is the best I remember-- ranked right below the team we just beat the day before: http://www.espn.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2008/week/13 Not quite as high as the one Brook shared, but a high-water mark.
The closest I remember us getting to #1 was when we were in the top 5 with Favre at 8-3 after beating the 10-0 Titans.
