The mistakes were just crippling for the team. Baltimore was struggling to move the ball when they didn't have absurd starting field position (or a 30 yard pass interference). This had all the makings of being a tight defensive struggle game.

Jets throw an INT, Baltimore gets 3. Joyner has a 32 yard pass interference, Baltimore gets 7. Jets shank a punt, Baltimore gets 7. That's 17 points that didn't have to happen

Thats not to say I think the Jets were the better team, or should have won. But I do think if the Jets can clean up some of the horrible mistakes, this could have a been a legitimate competitive game.

I think people are getting a bit crazy here. Like everyone here - I’m a long suffering fan and have seen some really bad Jet football. What I saw Sunday wasn’t same old Jets to be honest.

To me - Sunday was largely a function of the Jets running out a subpar backup that had zero mobility that made it really difficult to have a successful offense. The defense was largely pretty good - a handful of bad plays or miscommunications - but the defense wasn’t getting bullied out there or having the ball thrown all over the field. If the offense was doing anything - those few plays would have been overcome or matched to make it close.

Let’s calm down a bit and look at the situation a bit more rationally

Yes if you step back and take a look you can find some signs of hope…the defense played well for a half. Ok. They held Lamar in check for the most part. But like they always do, they couldn’t close the deal. Other teams seem to be able to play 60 minutes of football. Our D can’t. Yes I get the offense was trash. I get the special teams were shit. So? Why can’t the D play solid for 60 minutes and keep us in the game?

like others have pointed out, it can’t be that they were gassed because time of Poseidon wasn’t that lopsided. It was mental toughness. They were getting ZERO help from the offense and precise teams do they gave up and folded. They lost concentration and gave up big plays on missed assignments. I get it. It’s hard to stay focused when you’re playing your ass off and the rest of the team is shitting the bed.

but a truly great defense would have done it.

so yes, I actually think the defense held up better than I expected them to. But they are not fully there yet.

I like a lot of what I saw from G Wilson…he needs more touches. Michael Carter looked good except he dropped a TD. I liked seeing JJ get a half sack…it’s not easy to sack Lamar…good for him. So there is some hope.

Flacco is just terrible, even padding his stats in garbage time it felt like a chore to score.

I would start White just to see because we know what Flacco can do and it’s not much…

I love the fact that some people are blaming Zach Wilson for this loss...o_O

No... this loss lands solely in the lap of Robert Saleh.

He can "delegate" everything... except blame.

I was at the lake and listened to the game on Sirius. I was able to 'imagine' the carnage as it was being described. Here's my take-aways:

1- Terrible performance by the OL. Flacco had monsters in his face/lap/legs ALL DAY.
2- Terrible performance by the OL. RBs getting hit in the backfield over and over. I think we averaged -1yd on first downs. Just terrible.
3- Terrible performance by the WRs. My god, the drops HAVE to stop. So many run killing drops.

4- Our run-D played lights out. Huge improvement from last year. Minus 2 broken plays our pass-D seemed much improved too.

Ahh. I see the misunderstanding. I’m talking about this year because we played them this year.

You seem to be talking about last year… which is odd bc ya know, we play them this year.

If the Ravens were still without their 2 all pro CBs you might have a point but alas you once again fall short.

I dont want to hear Saleh talking shit either about the need it now generation shit. You get paid to produce this great team you talk about...WHEN...are we gonna see this so called great team. As jets fans , we see the same shit we just got through watching last year, and year before...
Enough. Shut the hell up and start winning . If the coaches aren't getting it done...YOU go get it done. Players suck..yank em and do something else.
This is ridiculous. The fans know better.

Baltimore historically fields a top 5 defense. They were riddled with injuries last year and were 19th in points allowed. It's too early to tell how good they will be this year but I would bet they will return to being a top 5 defense.

Well you have base it on something. You claim the Ravens have one of the best defenses this year based on what exactly?

If you want to circle back in 5 weeks to see if I’m right, I won’t be opposed.

9 weeks - Their 1st three games are against some of the worst offenses in football (Jets, Dolphins, Pats) so a 5 week look not be very indicative. I don't care enough about the Ravens to actually circle back though.

I doubt they have one of the best defenses in football, I think its worse than the defense the Jets face this Sunday on the road for example. Its a middle of the pack defense

It's hard to admit when you are wrong. Show me when the Ravens didn't have a top defense besides an injury riddled 2021.

Seahawks able to win with GENO SMITH and we can't even function on offense?? I've seen team after team play back up players or QBs we wouldn't want to have here still put a better offense together than we can.

I just don't get it man. Someone spends all year thinking about this offense and this is the best we can do??

Geno is a far better QB than Flacco

They scored from our turnover on a short field. D really gave up 17 imo and that’s damn fine vs that O. That’s a good team with an elite O and QB

LOL no...he still has terrible pocket presence...difference was he had a good run game most of the night and he did come out with a much different gameplay that took Denver off guard.
