You know honestly where the team is so young and so many new parts I'm a lot less interested in the keys to the game. I'm much more interested in seeing the Jets break two constants: 1) Start fast - it's vitally important for the Jets to start fast. The Jets are notoriously slow starters. In nearly every game they won last season or played close and right down to the wire, the Jets always started fast on offense. So for me, I know very quickly if the Jets are going to win or lose. If they start fast they've got a chance. If they pull the normal Jets nonsense we're fucked. 2) Get turnovers - when was the last time the Jets actually had a positive turnover ratio? Has it happened in the last 15 years? Even in Rex Ryan's days with the Jets they never generated turnovers. That absolutely MUST change if the Jets plan on flipping the script....
I just don't want the defense to come out flat. That would be the beginning of the end for me with this CS.
Stop the 3rd and longs as we've not been very efficient on those in the last few years. Convert our own 3rd downs, and make them manageable. Establish the run game to open the passing game. Easy this coaching thing
Joyner kind of sucks. I really liked the energy of the defense though. If there had been an offense, we could have won.
The way my picks always play out I'm picking the Jets opponents every week for the rest of the season, Jets will end up 16-1
EXACTLY. And it's those two factors that have plagued the Jets for about 15 years or more. Even when the Jets were knocking on the SB door they still take at least 1/3 of the game off. That's exactly why we lost yesterday. If we're ever going to flip the narrative we must change those two things.....
In the bigger knockout pool I'm in there were 438 players; 201 got eliminated week one. On the other hand, 97 are still alive because they took the Ravens.
