Crazy! Some guys wait YEARS after a long, grueling, intense and successful career while other get in after just a single 405 yard game ;)

Hats off to Mr Klecko for years of great play. I loved every minute of it.

Its been a long wait for Joe, I just hope he gets in this time.

He should do but things always seem to happen to the Jets and their players.

It's about bloody time. I reckon the judges were jealous of his film roles.

Nine-game winning streak after that 1-1 start, longest winning streak in team history. I thought I had picked my team well having started following the Jets in 1984!

The next 3 years they are going with 3 finalists instead of just 1, and all 3 can get in if they get 80% of the votes they need. When Jim Porter took over the HOF he knew something needed to be done about senior players that never got in, he has said the 3 finalist rules may be extended beyond 3 years also.

Yep, that's how it is now. And there's a fair possibility that Revis will get in as well. Who says the Jets suck?

You and me both. And then the collapse that followed before the short lived false dawn. Some things haven't changed much.

I look at it as a 10 game winning streak after an 0-1 start

That was my first year rooting for the Jets. I had season tickets starting with the Monday night game against the Broncos (took them over from a friend.) I wish I had a time machine.

We lost our second game, though! When the Patriots handled us easily in week two, who knew we would briefly become the most dangerous team in the league. There were some crazy offensive displays that year, before O’Brien’s arm fell off.

I thought they lost game 1. My bad. I was 17 and in college back then. Lost a few brain cells along the way

Also, I was a Dallas Cowboys fan that year and because if this I hated the Giants.

An alumnus of my fraternity had to give up his season tickets because his wife was pregnant (he graduated a few years prior.) They asked me if I wanted the last 5 games and I believe the tickets were $20 each. I had never been to a football game and decided why not? I wanted to root for a NY team and there was no way I was switching to the Giants.

So my first game was the Monday night game vs. Denver. I saw them win that game and the next two home games. Then it all fell apart. This began my football life of misery.

It was my first year of college too! Listening to the games on Armed Forces Radio! I sometimes think about going back to radio, there’s something about a good radio broadcast.

I remember listening that game in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the UK... I may have heard you yelling!

It's about time that this happened. Really, the Hall of Fame and its voters should be ashamed that it took this long. Should have been a done deal decades ago at this point.

Congrats Joe. You deserve it and deserved it a long, long time ago.

I mentioned this before but it would be nice if the Jets get the HOF game next year. With Klecko and possibly Revis there will be a lot of green and white in Canton that weekend. Its not the starters who will play so no need to worry about possible injuries to key players with an extra preseason game. Jets fans could get to see some of the draft picks and 2nd and 3rd stringers play a game. It would cap off a great weekend for Jets fans.

If Klecko had been a Steeler, Cowboy, Giant, Raider or 49er, he would have been in by 1995. Period.

    See you all in Canton!
