https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2022/07/28/jets-cj-uzomah-zach-wilson-year-2-leap-joe-burrow/ Doesn't mean much, but any good mojo is fine by me. At least it's not Tyreek Hill annoying with Tua.
Maybe he saw guys building up Burrow's confidence pre season last year with similar rhetoric and he felt it helped his development/confidence so he is trying to use the same strategy with Wilson. Just a thought, seems plausible though.
Thanks for posting this. I changed the thread title. CJ is a great locker room guy according to reports. If he is saying this, I will stop and listen.
It's definitely a good sign. I think you guys have a good reason to be cautiously optimistic. JD seems to get it. But what the fuck do I know.
That's how I looked at it. It's a fairly innocent comment made to pump up young QB. Maybe magic can strike twice.
I didn't want the title to be too bold even if it was from the quote. I usually never do that when I create a thread.
Joe Burrow has confidence coming out of his ears. I don't know how much that guy needed to be built up.
I chose Tua because of his accuracy. Enough said. You want accuracy, should have stayed in KC with Mahomes. You wanted money.
Maybe. You can also see the confidence with ZW when he answers questions as well. The tone in his voice + the way he just owning the entire podium when speaking is night and day from last year IMO.
Joe Burrow is 25 Zach is 22. Let's pump the brakes a bit. Zach will take a leap but he still has some growing to do.
You are absolutely right: it does not mean much at all. And your comparison is perfect even: this is very similar as Hill saying Tua is better than Mahomes. Granted, not as idiotic, but that's what the incoming FA who played with good QBs do, compare their new QB in a good way to the old one. Doesn't mean anything at all. With all that said, I do hope CJ will be right and Hill wrong!
