Based on last year, I have to go with LaFleur. The offense looked much better when he was in the booth. I look forward to seeing what it looks like with more weapons.
Yeah they can. That would probably be a really bad idea, though. They can throw the AHC title at him but the guy has a rookie OC season that yielded 4 wins. Nobody is going to be trying to hire as him as HC based on 1 good season (2022).
I do agree that the odds of it happening as soon as a few games into this season are slim, but I have very little doubt that LaFleur will be getting strong HC interest if he continues to improve. There's name recognition, his association with Shanahan and McVay, and LaFleur also just fits the mold of all the top HC candidates lately (young, offensive-minded, McVay-adjacent). Firing Saleh to give LaFleur the HC job, assuming the defense continues to disappoint and the offense continues to improve, is probably the kind of move that everyone would think was insane in the moment before warming up to it over time. You can't retain good offensive coordinators unless they're also your HC, there's just too much demand for them right now.
We'll have to re-do this thread at the end of the year, because I'm really not seeing the reasons for this much confidence in LaFleur.
It's a low bar for sure. But... Jets were dead last in total yards through six games, then top 6 over the next ten games. Hard to argue with that. Second half, an eyeball test was passed for me. I was pleasantly caught off-guard by play calls and execution several times a game down the stretch. It may be a mirage, but it's reason for real hope, imho.
I agree about hope. I have a lot of hope for the guy after the creativity he showed in the second half. Hope and confidence aren't the same thing though.
I'm not so sure no one will. If Zach takes a significant leap, the Jets O looks good and puts up good numbers and there's a team searching for guy to rub some magic on a freshly minted franchise QB prospect I could see them taking a shot at him. Carolina maybe? There's a few fairly big ifs to overcome there for sure though and outside of that I would agree its not happening on the back of one good year. But we know how teams do stupid things when they are desperate for that QB.
Have you seen the Jets performance in all the time you been a fan. Now, you tell me, is Allah not punishing you?
Saleh b/c he's the head coach. Also, this is a pointless thread since there is a lot of collaboration within the coaching staff and within ANY competent coaching staff.
Wait... I think I get it now. https://forums.theganggreen.com/thr...the-empire-state-building.97692/#post-4217931
heh. So who was the brave soul that voted for Ulbrich? He put his little hat on backwards and got to work actually improving things. I must admit I didn't see that coming although DJ Reed and Sauce get a ton of the credit.
