Turns out they wiped the devices AFTER the committee issued the subpoena. You know what that means.

Did they delete it before or after we knew Buttigieg was gay though? That’s key.

They think the GOP are winning the midterms and the problem will go away.

Congress can't shut down the DOJ if they decide to prosecute, can they?

Wow. Fire everyone involved and bring up charges on obstruction of justice. I'm tired of this enablement bullshit. Are we for law & order or what. Merrick Garland needs to grow some balls

Congress can withdraw the subpoenas making the issue moot.

Individuals who decided to text on the subject and then delete I am ok with firing, in fact I think it is the best solution.

A directive from leadership to delete or an action taken by leadership to delete pose different questions. I would let Homeland Security police those decisions and then fully report to Congress, behind closed doors if necessary.

There are legitimate institutional motives for a mandated deletion.

I remember laughing at communist countries and dictatorships for mock elections and mock trials.

The 2020 election was not a mock election. It gave us a typically muddy fully democratic result. And by democratic I mean the people voted and the people they voted for took their seats in the halls of government.

The Jan 6th Commission is not a mock trial at this point. It has been hampered by GOP reluctance to participate in a meaningful way however it is still rolling and we don't know what it will ultimately produce.

The only mock aspect of the current situation is the GOP's continued reluctance to act responsibly in terms of their participation in the government of the country. People who swore an oath to defend the Constitution should be doing that instead of promoting a cult of personality that threatens the underpinnings of our government and of our country. That they are doing this because they think it is a "winning" strategy is particularly odious.

Some prostitutes in Colombia and they get fired swiftly

This is a bigger deal than some prostitutes

About the same in my opinion. The reason to fire is lack of appropriate professional judgement in either case.

And no, I seriously doubt there was any kind of conspiracy that involved DHS or the Secret Service.

Any election that features Joe Biden and Donald Trump is a fucking mock election to me, bro. And probably every other country on the planet. Even the ones that have mock elections.

Well, if the GOP had acted responsibly and not nominated a mendacious reality show star with a tenuous grasp on reality none of the above would have happened.

They have already stated they won't do it before the elections because they do not want to be seen as putting a finger on the scales so to speak. And that is really the right thing to do.

No, it really doesn't. Trump was the worst candidate in terms of his respect for the law and the Constitution nominated by a major party in at least 50 years.

Nominating him essentially turned the GOP into a procession of clown cars and they're going to have a very hard time stopping that parade.

Whats worse is that anyone who tried to pump the brakes on that asshole is kicked out. Liz Cheney is just next in that long line
