Rex was never going to be a good fit with the Ravens as a HC. They ran a disciplined and serious organization. but for the Jets, he was a perfect fit and needed at that time. I think Rex was solid and enjoyed him the first 3 years but then he got away from it and ego got in his way. He didn’t do well with the Bills. No other teams have considered him as HC in the last 3 years proven he was a solid short lived HC
When I bumped into Rex... the 1st thing I did was thank him for those two seasons. I hope we make some runs again soon... we deserve it.
Rex got a bad rap. His best coaching was probably the year Geno started. Once the media started with the clown show narrative it was all over for Rex. What have the Jets done since his departure? One decent season.
Did it end poorly? YES, but given the history of this team, not sure how people can have an "unfavorable" view of Rex here....granted some people wanted to be unhappy about everything.
Favorable of course just for the 2009 and 2010 seasons alone. Most have already said it, it wasn't pretty but damn was it fun. Rex always a great promotor and our defenses were pretty strong. Offense was his downfall and we could never get that fixed. I was always opposed of the Sanchez drafting for one, but with all that said. I believe he loved being the Jets coach and really worked hard to make this team relevant.
