1969 - last championship 2011/12 - last playoff appearance 13-36 - record over the last 3 years.. Wake up and realize this team hasn't done a f'n thing other than make headlines since 1969.. Bottom line.. This franchise hasn't won shit in a long long time.. He who ignores history is doomed to repeat it.
I have somewhat tempered optimism for this season. I have no doubt the team is much better than in many years. The problem is the schedule. I swear to god the NFL schedule makers hate the Jets and want their ruin. The schedule is probably the hardest schedule I've ever seen. My objective feeling is I think the Jets will go 8-9. I'm thinking they'll be 3-6 through their first 9. Then they start wnning late in the season and barely miss the playoffs.....
What makes our schedule any harder than the other teams in the AFC East? Other than they get to play a perceived weak Jets team, the answer in nothing. I'm so sick of hearing about our "hard schedule." The rest of our division has a harder one.
Getting two easy wins on their schedule makes it easier. The Patriots havent lost a game to our Jets in 7 years. I wish we had someone like that on our schedule
Are you still trolling out this line? I mean, you must be trolling, as several posters have explained exactly why.
I don't know if I sometimes come across as a darksider on here because I do acknowledge things have been awful for a long time and I understand how someone could become jaded. But until it's proven otherwise I think this team is going to be a surprise this year. I think the Jets are going to be in the hunt for eight or nine wins and that may be enough to challenge for a wild card spot. I'm not saying they will get it, but I think they will be in the 'In the Hunt' graphic for the last few weeks of the season. I get that the schedule looks frightening, but there are always teams that are worse than expected and there are teams that are better than expected. I have a feeling this team, with the really transformative injection of talent over this offseason in particular, is going to be a real shock for some people. I'm excited for this season.
and you're still going on commenting and name calling anyone who opposes and gives an opinion about JD... I guess you must have missed the part where I am a fan...but hey, a little critique and quick, hammer the keyboard. I mean I must be trolling? If you don't like it, you don't have to berate someone, scroll tf on...
I did no such thing. Truth is truth JD did not have the power to get rid of Gase as you keep berating him for, it wouldn't matter if I thought he was or wasn't a good GM the plain fact is they had equal power in the fucked up system that the Johnsons created and he could not sack Gase. Of course, the part you never pick up on is who stayed in the end and if you don't think JD wasn't asked his opinion on keeping Gase then nobody can help you further in your bizarre belief that JD was at fault for not sacking Gase The fact you keep saying the same accusation leads to the belief you are just trolling for whatever reason. Pick something else to berate him for and you might get some people in full agreement, I am sure you can think of plenty.
Which is more the likely result of this upcoming season: Jets end up with the no.1 overall pick or Jets end up in the playoffs?
Way more likely we make the playoffs. Almost no chance we end up with the number pick (Unless we have some devastating Injuries). Slight chance we make the playoffs.
