The kid sounds legitimately excited about being on the team and I know any rookie would feel that way, but it was nice to get a glimpse of his personality and his football experience. Hopefully he could have the same impact John Abraham had for us back in the day, only he'll be with us for a decade plus.

He will have a chip on his shoulder for sliding into twenties in the draft. I am hopeful. I hope he can crush it. Go Jermaine!

He's a well spoken young man who seems grateful and excited to be a JET.

I also noticed that he seems knows is place as a Rookie.

    "Have to earn it"

He said he thought (hoped?) all along he'd be going to go to the Jets. When he heard the Jets had traded up to 26, he said he knew it was for him. I bet he was disappointed when JD passed him over at 4 and then again at 10. But it worked out....way less $$$ for him, but he don't seem mad.

As far as JD's third draft, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good! We'll soon see, but I loved this kid on that Rich Eisen int.

For whatever reason, he's the pick out of our top four that I've kind of overlooked since the draft. It was great seeing him here as I feel like I've gotten to know him. Good kid!

Have we picked a nickname for this kid yet?

I'm going with 'JJ2' in the game threads...

During the draft process, I really liked Jermaine as a prospect. For me, pass rusher was the #1 need for the Jets, and he fit the bill. I liked Kayvon, but it was clear the Jets did not, so I was fine with Johnson at #4 or #10. I am still in disbelief the Jets got Jermaine Johnson AND Sauce Gardner AND Garrett Wilson AND Breece Hall. Wow.

This was a great interview too. I really hope Jermaine delivers on the field, because I already like him a lot off of it. He will definitely become a fan favorite

Listen to Ledger Duzable talk about this kid before & after the Draft is all I needed to know. He felt he was the best & most complete & pro ready edge player in the draft.. I didn't see JJ play much pre draft, but I trust Ledger's ability to know talent when he see it. As Ledger' said the Draft went from a A to an AAA+++ Draft after they drafted JJ.

    We need a consensus.

There's nothing better than slapping a nickname on a player before he does anything on the field...

I’m loving this pick. I didn’t want hi, at 4 or 10. But man 26. I’m pumped. Hopefully he attacks the qb

    Shame his number wasn't #72

JJ72 has a great ring to it...

Get Wilson some headgear and gloves on JJ, I think Wilson can duck and weave better than Geno
