Carl Lawson Update

I must say this about Carl. His motivational drive and electrifying personality seems to be a very positive influence on his teammates. That in and of itself is a big plus. Now, here are my best wishes for him to get out there and lead them into much better results for 2022 and remain healthy for the entire seasons.

I could be wrong and maybe we'll get lucky and Carl will end up taking some kind of paycut or at least a team friendly restructure and he ends up working out long term. But some of the older, dumber Jets regimes would have chased Carl Lawson's greatness into the operating room half a dozen times and never gotten a payoff.

The contract that Joe drew up has escapes for the team in the event that Carl hasn't lived up to the terms, and so far we have yet to see him take a meaningful snap at this point in 2022. If he is on the PUP to start the season, I will be shocked if he is back in 2023.

It sucks because I really like the guy's story, his personality and the fire he brings to the team. It really does seem like he is well liked and his energy is infectious. This is someone that I really want to prove me wrong, but the red flags are there now.

I missed it too - we went to the coast for a weeks vacation and apparently he's gone.

I remember this one time, NC insulted me, and then I insulted him better, and then he put me on ignore.

I’m personally going to miss NC starting on page 1 of a 19 page thread and responding to posts as he goes rather than seeing how the discussion ended up going for the next 19 pages.

 

He'd run down his laundry list of discontent...

That dude ain’t going anywhere. He’ll be back by the regular season. I hope I get some more PM’s flaming me when I reference his own quote of only watching a “couple games a year.”

 

Wow. Come on guys. Be more gentle towards NC. I personally loved reading his football posts and I am sad that he chose to leave. To me he had just one mistake. He didn’t know how to let it go and agree to disagree. That said, since he is gone, can we move onto Lawson?
