I didn't do a deep dive into this to find out if its accurate ---- but damn, ---- sure looks good. https://jetswire.usatoday.com/lists...trades-garrett-wilson/?itm_source=parsely-api Alijah Vera-Tucker Jason Pinnock (who I hope can honestly contribute in some way in a safety rotation) Jonathan Marshall DT last year draft Garrett Wilson Breece Hall Max Mitchell
At the beginning of the offseason, we had some people talking about how JD might be on the hot seat if we don't win x games this year. I think those are people who don't understand how this works. No matter how many or how few games we win this season, JD accumulated a huge amount of draft capital for 2021 and 2022, and moved the organization from a place of terrible cap space to a place of very good cap space. Digging out of a hole takes time. The 2022 draft class reflects how far out JD has dug, but those rookies won't likely be stars for another year or two at least. JD is building for the future. Fans may or may not be able to see it, but Woody would be an idiot to get rid of JD, regardless of whatever record we have in 2022.
Those two trades really have the making of a franchise turning event …. Looks outstanding on paper. Let’s hope this ‘22 draft class is the real deal. JD is a draft wizard as far as the moves go - let’s hope his scouting team is on the ball as well…
When it comes to trading players for picks, Douglas is a beast. Let's see if the results on the field improve with another year from the HC he hired.
You get a potential All-Pro guard in AVT and a potential #1 WR in Garrett Wilson for Jamal Adams. That is pretty good. Don't have to pay Adams either. A potential #1 elite RB in Hall for Darnold is pretty good too. Throw in the other guys and it is just gravy. No matter what, both trades were amazing by Joe Douglas.
