Any post on a message board IS opinion. I have mine about the Big Ticket. Let him prove me wrong on the field. That's what matters.
Damage control or putting a spin on it, that being said I hope it’s not an issue and the young man can get back to playing football.
I knew this response was coming as soon as posted that. Everyone is free to take it how they want. For me, Douglas has been a pretty straight shooter to this point. I’m going to take him at t face value until proven I shouldn’t.
Connor Hughes also took him at face value when they were giving him draft information, however they were steering him away from the reality of what was going on behind the scenes. Honestly I don’t care what Joe says about Becton, it’s not really our business as fans, it’s between the employer and employee. I just want Becton to get healthy and contribute to what looks like is going to be a very dominant OL if he can be part of it. Top CB, strong OL, strong DL, good pass rush and a good QB, sounds like it could be a repeat of 2009 and 20010.
Of course, makes perfect sense. However, when dealing with 'smartest girl in the room' .types you have to indulge their narcissistic penchant in belaboring a point by 'holding people's hands to the fire' for all to see. PerrypenisMason envy I think they call it. Remember: THEY DEAL IN TRUTH..
They could be the reporting of facts; that's pretty basic. Working for the Jets is immaterial. Posts here, as in all forums, are sometimes opinion and sometimes facts; the problem develops when some post their opinion as if it is fact.
Did I state anywhere in the post that what I posted was indeed fact? Let me answer that for you... NO. Unless someone is dialed into the Jets FO/CS like say, a beatwriter trolling on a message board or some network minion with insider info, its an opinion. Unless it's a direct quote from a reliable source, its an opinion and nothing else should be made of it. If someone makes the mistake of accepting message board post as facts on the face of it? That's their problem.
Joe Douglas is the last guy to be honest about Becton. Douglas drafted him very high, Douglas’ career is tied to the guy Robert Saleh is the most positive guy I’ve seen and yet he said what he said about Becton, that’s a clearer indication
Just because someone has a reason to be dishonest doesn’t automatically mean they are being dishonest.
Douglas is far more tied to Zach than he is to Becton. If Becton was going to be a problem you really think he'd be relying on him to protect the guy whose success or failure will be fundamental to his own career?
